Morning all, thank you so much for the advice and support. It feels like a lonely road to travel down with regards to eldest DD but I feel a lot better having heard the advice - truly been a comfort. RL is proving challenging at the moment and not much decluttering done so far this week. I went through a box of the dcs paperwork that I just keep flinging stuff in there. First pass I have got rid of about 60% of it. (School books from each year) kept artwork and some school books but I will work on pulling.out the best bits and will make a book for them each or we will be overrun with kids exercise books again and only 7 months until I get the next batch 🤣. Yesterday I organised my clothes into my new chest of drawers (first time I have had clothes storage for myself in over 5 years 😲) I have got rid of all the old raggedy bits that I have been wearing...pretty much everything I have been wearing because I used 'real' money to give myself a clothing upgrade. Only m&s and tu but nothing is stained or holey and it feels amazing! I have a tip run, drop off at food bank to do and I also have some decorating to do... after I convince my dc that today isn't a weekend and they do have to go to school....

@Dfw38 - your daughter has you as her advocate and support which is ultimately the most valuable help to her. This is what I realised when negotiating the education and mental health services for one of my children. As a parent we do whatever is needed to compensate for the considerable deficit in the system. We got very little help and no understanding whatsoever from the school. I just wanted to let you know that despite the isolation and worries of the school years things can still work out well. It’s exhausting and difficult though, holding that faith in your child and yourself to be the driving force in working towards what is best for them. Lots of good wishes going forward xx
Not a brilliant start to the day as took DS2's car (which I use a lot now) to get tyres checked. Recommended all 4 were replaced ouch!! Done now and will share cost with him.
103-106 - decluttered 4 tyres and significant amount of money

Ouch I bet that hurt , not what you need at this time of the year but your life, and safety is important as those four bits of rubber on the road keep you alive when driving especially if the weather in nasty and icy
Yes agree @London_1. It passed its Service and MOT only a few weeks ago with just an advisory on tyres but I was a bit wary and got them checked out today. The place I go are good and have advised me in past either to replace tyres or wait another three months or so and I do trust them. He said he wouldn't drive on them in this weather.
Our tyres need doing on the van, but as I've already spent £650 on it this month, I just can't stretch to it. Praying they don't blow up. They are "off road" tyres so have a deep tread, but the garage said they are close to the limit. Ideally I would not replace them until March as that is when I should be back on an even keel, but in reality, they will probably all simultaneously explode,

Dfw38 I am pleased to hear that you are giving yourself some love by wearing nice clothes. You deserve it and it will give you a boost to wear nice things. I am a great believer in having nice clothes to wear. They don't have to cost a lot but affect my confidence massively. You/ we all do so much for others we deserve nice things too.xxx
Thank you @Moorviews your words mean a lot. Thank you @vulpix, I feel a lot better and confident when I look tidier! I have filled bag 8 - paperwork and old bedsheets that do not fit any mattresses we have. I have had a tip run and got rid of a load of rubbish and 4 medium boxes I was using to store junk in. The man at the tip has put them in the re-use section. I am going to get rid of the boxes as I declutter otherwise we will just end up filling them. I have some more earmarked for my next tip run Friday.

Hello Mrs SD and all. Thank you for LO first medal 🥇 of 2024! She is very happy 😊
I am on a “quick wins” day today. Every where I go I am decluttering a few items, putting things away. I put some post away in the filing cabinet then shredded a whole load of paperwork no longer needed.
Emptied the fridge and doing a batch cook. Changed the beds. Laundry on. Bins out. Recycling out. Dishwasher on.
Really need to put some toys away so I can hoover and then steam the floor. This won’t be quite so quick which is why I am putting it off!
I did kon Marie folding of all DH clothes. now he can see what he’s got I hope he will declutter some stuff! It can’t be that long since I last organised his clothes because I didn’t even find any odd socks! LO and I have easily manageable amounts of clothes but DH never lets any go…..
Right, must stop the delay tactics, and just get on with it!
@Mrs SD it’s a very long train this year - very busy - I have no idea how you keep up - remember to go to bed at a reasonable hour 🤭😴
My day off today, so am running around doing lots of chores and things that stack up when you ignore them the rest of the week! I might be slowly winning as I am getting round to stuff that have been the bottom of the list for a long time. I really hope I crack it this year and finally manage to get a clear house. I've been trying not to put things off and deal with them quickly - so I've been emptying DS's school bag regularly and getting him to decide which paperwork he wants to keep (and then file it away) and the rest goes straight to recycling. Probably more tidying later, but need to see how many dull tasks I can get through today, including ringing my broadband provider.
Ran round last night clearing up DD's room as I couldn't stand it anymore. Still need to have a think about books and maybe a few puzzles, but the rest of it looks great and there are a few more things gone (they go immediately onto Buy Nothing or into the charity box that I take when it's full). I should probably run through the kids toys in the dining room before DD's birthday (not till March) to make sure that is still all the stuff she plays with. I read in the school newsletter that they are taking clothes donations again soon (raises money for the school), so I immediately went to the charity box in the cupboard and packed all the clothes into it ready to go to school in a couple of weeks time. Saves me taking it to the charity and it's nice to give money to the school. I think some of the parents list a lot of stuff on Vinted to raise money.
