Trying to cancel Setanta?!
Comments
-
I gave 30 days notice but as it was 1 day past my payment date they said they wanted an extra payment. So I cancelled DD.
Have been hounding us ever since for the extra £10 and have now cut us off a week too soon !! I was almost at the point of paying to get them off our backs. Although I am concerned that this £10 could adversely affect my credit rating which is currently 100% clean.
But they can stick it. I would have gone back at the start of the season but I wont be touching these chancers again.0 -

Just got in from work to find I have a missed call off the muppets but no message. Do they take notice of emails?
I would phone but I would just lose my temper :mad:0 -
Signed up to Sentanta sports card was not activated tried several times but to no avail phoned them up (thats another story on hold on for 30 mins then disconected first call then on hold 20 mins then disconected 2nd call third call and got through costing me a small fortune  )
Asked to cancel they said I could not cancel because I was not on the system took about 40 mins for them to find me on the sytem and cancel me
Costly mistake I'll never sign up to them again
0870 numbers are another rip off that needs to be addressed companies should be made to offer a geographical number as well as the 0870 0845 etc numbers0 -
I sent the letter off by recorded delivery and after checking the Royal Mail web site, they have received and signed for it. Off to cancel the direct debit now.
Thanks0 -
I have contacted watchdog so +1 to whatever complaints they had so far.0

+1 again...
is it true that their 0871 number is £1.50 per minute?
I have tried all the other numbers and either get cut off or informed there is a fault and to call back later.
I called them this morning to inform them that I had technical faults on most of their channels - they said they'd look into it and sort it within the hour. I had to phone them back this evening to tell them the fault has still not been fixed - I also asked the agent how much my call was costing and he said he wasn't sure but thought it was a local rate number? So far I have spent at least 25 minutes on the phone to them (mostly waiting for an agent) and I'll be spitting feathers if these calls have cost a small fortune
the more I read about Setanta the more I think these are serious con artists0 -

They phoned gain the other day so I picked up and was very 'off' with the guy to start with but relented when I realised he was only doing his job.
The reason they had kept phoning for payment details was that when I phoned to cancel they offered me 3 months for £5. But the thing is they didn't !!! I would probably have accepted but for moving house if that had been the case.
They guy said the company they employ to deal with cancellations had a habit of doing this.0 -
LeeUK they disabled the 0191 number I tried it yesterday, basically when I rang it just got a message saying for corporates only and to ring 0871 for customer services.0

thanks LeeUK the calls are about 10p per minute (phew!)
to anyone who's interested - my technical fault has still not been fixed so I phoned straight through to sales this time and the call was answered immediately (surprise surprise). A nice old lady told me that I was not alone and many customers are unable to receive the main channels and they are hoping to fix the fault within the next 48 hrs. I voiced my dissatisfaction about the service I had received since I subscribed and she agreed and said the customer services in the UK were poor (she was in Ireland) and that they are in the process of relocating the entire operation back to Ireland (I'm glad I've cancelled).0
