My partner just rang them to cancel. I joined up on 29th September so I could watch my teams games. I much preferred premplus.
My team dont have any games coming up and to be honest there were at least 3 ior 4 games whichwere unwatchable due to the picture stopping and starting. Lost count of the time the studio comments were out of sync.
Setanta are saying 30 days notice from today will mean we have to make another payment as it will take us past the 29th. Is this right? I count 30 days from today?
I've cancelled the DD now and they can whistle for an extra £9.99 for a day's viewing.
They definitely suck people in with their £9.99 per month 'no contract' advertising.
When looking at their website earlier I also noticed they have put their connection fee up to £12.99 for sky customers.0 -
30 days take you to the 29th, so you could argue either way. As they said 'past the 29th' I'd argue that you shouldnt need to pay another month. Of course thats assuming they dont ignore your request to cancel anyway!0

You must cancel the direct debit with these chancers,i rang and cancelled last month, then got a letter saying sorry your leaving but if you stay you can have the package for £5 amonth for 3 months,i wasnt bothered and thought that was the last of it...how wrong was i,they've been back in my bank account to relieve me of another payment this month. Do this company have a different set of rules to such as Sky that they abide by or do they just not listen to their customers, needless to say i've cancelled the DD...NO MORE MONEY FOR SETANTA FROM ME2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0

Tried to cancel on 31st December, giving the 30 days notice. The guy at the other end offered me 3 months for £5 per month. Decided to accept and have now found that £9.99 has been debited from my bank account. Looks like a painful call to the Newcastle number in the morning. That to this post I've kept ful details of who I spoke to, when and what was agreed, I can also cancel my DD online so the theiving bas*ards can't steal any more money.0

I am very surprised anyone has bothered with Setanta - when it comes to the football they have pretty much shown matches that aren't really worth watching....if I remember correctly they even wanted to move the Man Utd against Everton game to 7.45pm on Christmas Eve and were told where to go.
Sky is a waste of money too.....they are just as bad as Setanta, they just annoy people in other ways.0 -
Another update. Spoke to cancellations on 31st December but Setanta have no record of my call. They do have a record of a call they claim took place on the 26th January, which I never made or received.
I've cancelled my direct debit, cancelled my service and informed Setanta that they can keep the £9.99 they've misappropriated from me, but I expect that my service will run for the next 30 days.
I suppose three months for £10.99 isn't too bad but I will NEVER consider signing up with them again even if they offered me six months for free.0 -

I'll be getting rid of sky next and just go to the pub for the few games my team are on during the season.0
