Customers already paying £15 on satellite or £10.99 on Freeview will not see any difference.

well it seems not, this 0800 number called again on friday and got a text on Saturday and Sunday.
Cant manage to shake them off, if only they read my letter sent recorded, listened to my phone calls, read my emails, they would know full well that I had given them 30days notice and had paid up.0 -
My partner cancelled setanta last month on the date they said to call and was told everything was fine
This weekend he got a text asking him to phone them, which he did and was told that everything was ok, all was cancelled and not to worry. About an hour later he got another text, phoned again and was told this time that he had infact not cancelled and why had the direct debit been stopped, my partner explained the situation and the reply he got was 'for you to resolve this and speak to someone we will need to take payment details from you now so I can put you through' :rotfl: . OH almost fell on the floor laughing and asked them to put it in writing to him, which apparently they cannot do as they don't send out letters  . In the end he just told them he had tried sorting it but as they won't put him through to someone without his payment details (he was obviously not prepared to give these) then it was there problem not his.
Needless to say we won't be dealing with Setanta again.Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -
OMG I am sooo angry with this company it is untrue
Is anything ever going to be done about them
When I first subcribed I received a letter which clearly stated and I quote
"Should you require us to alter any details please call our Customer Service Team on 08712 00 33 22 or e-mail us at customerservices@setanta.com."
Well to cancel is surely to 'alter'.
I e-mailed them on the 20/4 and again on the 14/5 and they have continued to take money.
So I just rang them (against my better judgement - why should I have to pay more money?)
Just had an argument with a guy who claims that cancelling is not altering, which I think it is and I explained to him that to alter something is to make something different or change it, which is exactly what I am trying to do.
When he realised he was getting no-where with his normal bull he transferred me onto someone else who proceeded to take my details and then she
CUT ME OFF
My question is who do I complain to about this company and not at Setanta, they must have a governing body ????
I would gladly continue to pay my subcription if they would end up receiving as much negative publicity as the press can throw at them.0 -

I have hopefully cancelled my dd to them, it was coming from my credit card and the bank said they can only query itwhich I hope is as good as cancelling it. Just waiting for the on-slaught from Setanta now
Have copies of my replies from them stating they will contact me in 5 days which they never have, soooo if they do start harrassing me for money etc. I am going to the press :rotfl:

got called last night saying that I owed them money, I explained everything in a forthright manner and the chap seemed took back that someone who had given 30 days notice via recorded letter wanted a letter of apology from them for the harrament and hassle.
He said that he would put a note on the account saying final payment waivered to which i replied it has not been wavered as I have paid it a few days after my letter was recieved by them giving notice. He said thats what we mean by the account is closed.
An hour and a half later I get a text messege saying please could I contact their premium rate line     idiots. really frustrated. they will not get another penny from me ever.0 -
8 weeks after Setanta received a recorded delivery cancellation from me, the channels have finally been switched-off, but whether this is because of "non-payment" or them finally taking note of one of my cancellation letters, I don't know.
I am though, receiving persistent calls from "0800 4088090", which don't ring long enough for me to get to the phone, and which trace back to 2touch Marketing- whose clients include Setanta.
Either way, having given them proper notice of cancellation and sent them a second copy when they first raised a query, my attitude now is, as best as possible, to ignore Setanta.0 -
Another letter received from Setanta today-" Setanta Sports recently made contact with you in respect of a failed subscription payment and requested that you contact us .....................".
I did contact Setanta after their previous letter and told them that the direct debit had failed because I cancelled it after giving them one month's notice and paying them for it.
I've got the recorded delivery receipts to demonstrate they received the original letter and the follow-up.
I won't pay them payments they are not due, no matter how many times they write. Realistically, I think their demands will just reach a "dead end" sooner or later, and all they will succeed in doing is driving me away from re-subscribing to them next season.0 -
I have just cancelled Setanta through BTVision. Got straight through and cancelled immediately. Happy days.:T0
