Plus the free happy hour on Sunday, which is of more benefit (value) than the 9.5p tonight, given my 7-8pm qualifying baseload is only 0.14kWh, so I'm only likely to earn 1.3p tonight.

Even at 100%, double that rate, the free hour on Sunday is worth far more than any monetary incentive they can reasonably offer tonight.

Yeah my baseline is 0.05 so I can probably force my battery to go below 20% after 1900 , it's a PITA though when you are on IOFlux it always wants to stop me from using the free hours plus I am hoping for rain on Sunday so I can max the lack of generation , dishwasher, washer, descale kettle and use real oven for Sunday lunch, I wish I could enjoy ironing 😂😂

When I was on IOFlux, I still had some limited control of my battery (Tesla Powerwall) and could temporarily override some settings before they reverted back to Octopus' will.

However, if I were on IOFlux, I wouldn't be worrying about the pennies you can make on a Saving Session as you are already quids in by being on IOFlux. Looking at August, we earned more for export last Aug on IOFlux (£228) than we've earned this Aug on regular Flux (£183), despite PV generation being 10% higher this year. Not being on IOFlux is costing us maybe £50-60/month. Wanna swap positions?

  • I got an app notification for yesterday's saving session, much better option than emails.

Shows as 76 points on mine. We've not been lucky in Zone 5 this week as this is the only one we've received.

I've booked 11-12 and 2-3pm for Sunday. The first will get the battery charge going and allow us to do house load, and the second may get cancelled at the last minute depending how solar generation pans out for the day and how the battery state of charge is looking. I don't mind getting some sessions in the bag now (had 4hrs available for this weekend), as we will be far more likely to be able to use 2 hours in October than in September, once solar reduces and the heating goes on.
