If saving 0.24 kWh a session is enough to get me a free hour (7KWh of car charging). Then I'm more than happy. As I do nothing different at all on a saving session. Only way to save more would be if I switched ALL power off.

The "free hour" is the power you use above the normal usage of that hour based on the previous 10 days usage during that hour.

    Is that correct?

Or is ALL the power you use during the hour completely free?

    Per Octopus:

During a Weekend Happy Hour, all the electricity you use is free up to 16kWh (which is more than any normal home could use – it’s enough to light up a stadium!) Your standing charge is charged as normal.

During yesterday’s 8pm - 9pm saving session we had 14GW of wind generation but no imports - maybe that’s the problem.

Judging by the usual sources there's quite a lot of wind at the moment - enough to supply about a third of demand, and cause some curtailment in Scotland - but it seems to be dropping slowly, so I guess by this evening there'll be a need to burn some extra gas.
