I’m saving mine to use when I’m likely to be generating less solar

Going to save mine till I need to dump lots of electric heat into the house (I'm normally gas) should at least make it easier to get to the 16kWh limit

I'm thinking if I'm a bit short on power in the battery, I could export for half an hour crossing both half hour segments which would probably be enough to do the job of 'reducing usage'. Will save the happy hours until later in the autumn when we might need to charge battery and can certainly heat the hot water with the immersion.

Think I'll save mine until I have a couple of hours to put together, which will be better for the W/M and D/W cycles.

This Sunday looks very sunny on the forecast, so I'm saving mine for now as we will likely have abundant solar - it will be more beneficial on a wet day when I can also get 5kWh into the battery.

Well the last 2 savings sessions proved fruitless as expected, it's very difficult to use less when your baseline is -3.51 kWh (minus) ☹️

I'm on Flux, and I normally start my export at 4pm as soon as peak rate starts. By 6pm the battery is significantly depleted so I generally see reduced export between 6-7pm. If there's a Saving Session 6-7pm, I just start my export a little later, maybe 4:30-7pm or 5-7pm, to ensure I'm exporting more between 6-7pm. Works well assuming saving sessions are always going to be 6-7pm.

Sadly IOF controls my battery and it runs flat out between 16-19 ,the only chance for me is if the solar gen is maxing.

As you are lucky enough to be on IOF (I missed getting on before they suspended it), I wouldn't worry. You are already being paid way more for your export than others who are able to more easily participate in a Saving Session and earn an extra few pence.

I would MUCH rather be in your position on IOF and miss out on Saving Sessions, than in my position on regular Flux and making a few pounds a month on Saving Sessions. Your cake is already the best cake in the store - I guess you don't get to have a cherry on top too :-)
