I've opted in but the people who are usually out at that time are ill and at home at the moment. It's worth clicking the button just in case we accidentally save anything, anyway.0

I think if you have batteries and getting an extra 12p kwh on top of the normal export rate it's better than most have been getting out of the energy market recently.

Between 17:30 - 18:30 = agile approx 48p... export = (12 + 15 = 27p) ... Nah0 -

Here's a quick whistle stop tour (being generous on the charge and discharge losses)
Octopus Cosy 13p to charge batteries earlier in the day and 27p to export in the saving session. Even with charge and discharge losses 9-10p kwh profit
Octopus Go 8.5p to charge batteries overnight and 27p to export 14-15p per kwh profit
Intelligent Go 7p to charge and 27p to export 18p kwh profit.
I agree though that anyone still on Agile with batteries won't make much profit if any but do question why they have been on Agile since 2nd Jan.
As you are on GO you should have charge at 8.5p and getting 27p for export !

I saw this too late to charge the battery so I had something to export so didn't opt in. Realistically it would only have saved me about 30p. I would have opted in if I had seen it but I'm,not going to lose any sleep.
This scheme doesn't seem to be working for anyone other than a few battery owners anymore, and even then the gains are small enough to be fairly insignificant.
Time to scrap it and move on IMHO.0 -

Unless the powers to be decide to dump some power stations based on the fact people are prepared to cut back for ££?
You pay peanuts & these monkeys are going to go back to normal usage. It has to be worthwhile to cut back.
When you see the battery people sayings it not worth it, then for anyone else the though of sitting in the dark for a few pence is simply not worth the effort.Life in the slow lane0 -
