On the 21st calendar day after I completed the tasks, I contacted them. The in-app chat told me to call them. On the phone they were helpful and made the £125 payment during the call.2

I contacted them today...."your amazon transactions were done online and the terms and conditions don't say if online transactions count".....err nonsense!! This one could be hard work!0

I hope you responded with "do the terms and conditions state that walking into a shop and physically using the card counts?"Organgrinder said:I contacted them today...."your amazon transactions were done online and the terms and conditions don't say if online transactions count".....err nonsense!! Not those exact words but something like "so if i wasn't using my card could you explain why my account was debited?"MeteredOut said:

Ive been on the live chat with HSBC regarding mine. Seems like they are trying to get out of my payment!
During a lengthy chat, they told me my payment wasn't paid because I applied for my account on 14.11.23. In fact I applied on 3.11.23 They don't seem to want to listen to that, I have the texts from HSBC confirming the application on 3.11.23. They keep saying cutoff was 6.11.23, I keep saying I applied on 3.11.23. Its annoying.
They say they are escalating my issue.
This isn't going to be easy.
UPDATE. It seems like they are trying to find anything not to make the payment. They are now asking questions about previous HSBC accounts.
And now they are asking me to make 5 payments using the card
You couldnt make this up. I told them I made the payments on 1.12.23, their response, "bear with us" lol
UPDATE 2 So after an 90 min chat. Where they have told me all sorts of things that wasnt right, they now say I have met the criteria and my payment will be made tomorrow. They dont have a clue what they are doing, I'll believe when I see it.

Same here - I've been on the phone to them today - got cut off once after being told I hadn't opened the account by November 6 - (I applied on 26 October and corrected him immediately that it was the application date that mattered) - eventually contacted customer complaints - this could take weeks - and I'm certain they will resolve it in their favour!!!
Absolute shower of a bank. Hope my nationwide switch incentive is easier!1 -
Complete shambles. They dont know what they are talking about.Organgrinder said:Same here - I've been on the phone to them today - got cut off once after being told I hadn't opened the account by November 6 - (I applied on 26 October and corrected him immediately that it was the application date that mattered) - eventually contacted customer complaints - this could take weeks - and I'm certain they will resolve it in their favour!!!

I cant believe this was painless and simple for many people. I think they are sick of paying out £125 and have pulled the plug.1 -
I totally agree - not the worst I've ever had though - that was Nat West who froze my account on the day it switched to them as they could not verify my identity even though they'd opened the account and transerred about £12,000!Idpullthecurtain said:
