  • Had my £125 today, I’d done the necessary on the 9th of December. 
  • Can I ask what wording is used on the transaction crediting the £125?

    Mine says HSBC COMPENSATION.

  • Well turns out mine was indeed compensation plus they then paid another £50. Doubt i'll get the £80 global money now. Maybe I'll use the advance account for the next switch.
  • Right well I said I'd update but you can't make this up.  I didn't receive the £125 when expected, despite fulfilling all the conditions so contacted them (chat) and they tried to give me the run-around. Eventually they agreed to pay the £125 that day but guess what . . .  No sign; so I contacted them the following day (chat) and was polite but insistent and refused to be fobbed off. They literally transferred the £125 PLUS the £80, ie the full £205 whilst I was on chat - and pointed out that there would be no further bonus paid in respect of the Global account.

    I had considered moving lock, stock and barrel to them, however it's been a far from smooth process opening the accounts and receiving the rewards, so the accounts are now closed and I'm £205 quids in!  Not without effort tho'

  • I didn't get the £125 automatically so I called them on 22nd December, after explaining I got put on hold for a short time and when he came back he apologised for the delay and said I'd get the money within an hour. I did indeed get the £125 into the Global Money account with reference "HSBC SWITCH INCEN"

    I've now done the transactions from the Global Money account and therefore will see if I get the £80 in future.

    I completed all the requirements by the time I made 5 card payments on 18th December 2023. However, 20 days passed and I hadn't received the £125 payment. Online chat were unable to resolve the matter, so I had to call telephone banking yesterday and was on hold for quite because the customer service representative had to speak to someone in the relevant team. They said that I would receive the payment today and it is in my advance account. I will now proceed to make the Global Money Account payments to claim the remaining part of the offer.

    Part of the reason my call took so long was because the security number they sent me for telephone banking was defective. No numbers are revealed when I peel the strip back on the letter. It took my wife about another month to get her account opened and her telephone banking security number has the same problem. I passed a security check by logging into the app whilst on call and then had to set up a security number using my mobile keypad.

    I thought that too, but they were just extremely hard to read!  It's an eight digit number, digits about 4mm high, at the bottom right of the peel off strip.  Try it in several different lights and hold at various angles against a white background.  I still have our peel off strip, I know that the numbers are there and yet I still struggle to read them.
  • I’ve had confirmation from HSBC chat last week that i’ve qualified for the £125 bonus but i’ve yet to receive the money.
    How long did everyone have to wait before receiving their money? I opened the account at the end of November but it wasn’t until the 20/12/23 I had met all the requirements to qualify for the £125 bonus. Thanks
  • I contacted them on live chat twice - got paid the full amount during the second live chat - plus the Advance bonus.  Think they wanted rid of me so I obliged.  It was not a seamless process which put me off a full move to HSBC anyway.
