To get the £5 reward, you'll need to keep Blue Rewards pay next month's £5 fee. There is little point doing this if the only reward you'll get is the direct debit one, unless you want to hang on to Blue Rewards in case something else gets offered in the future.Johnny-Cage said:
If I cancel Blue Rewards once they paid out the bonus and £800 goes in and out this month with 2 DD’s do I still qualify for the £5 or will that terminate soon as I cancel BRmasonic said:
They will take the £5 if you joined Blue Rewards by the end of November in time to qualify for the bonus. There is no need to do anything this month if you are going to cancel Blue Rewards. For me, 2 x £10 cashback was too good to resist.Johnny-Cage said:If they pay out the bonus tomoz
I have no interest in the cash back
What are my best options to cancel Blue Rewards
I have already done the 800 24th Nov
No direct debits will go out until end of Dec now
Will they still take the £5 charge out

£5 blue rewards fee from current account and £5 blue rewards credit into blue rewards wallet both happened at the same time today. Nice (though feels like Barclays are just creating unnecessary work for everyone here). Able to move the credit into the current account immediately to cancel it out.
Now where's that bonus? Fingers crossed for today.3 -
Yeah, I find it a bit odd too. To get the Blue Rewards credit you have to manually move it in the app from the Blue Rewards account to the current account and it moves instantly. To do the same with the cashback the app takes you to a website where you make the transfer and it takes a few days. It would be nice if you could just tick a box to say "just put everything in the current account". There is definitely scope for a bit of streamlining there.Dynamo24 said:£5 blue rewards fee from current account and £5 blue rewards credit into blue rewards wallet both happened at the same time today. Anyway, I've now cancelled the Blue Rewards. I'm assuming I'll get charged another £5 next month to cover this month but I'm fine if that happens. Apart from that, the Barclays account is now parked, awaiting another switch opportunity. I won't be sorry to see the back of the crazy, inconsistent world of banking with Barclays!0 -
When I made an enquiry regarding the switching bonus I was told that bonus payments are scheduled to take place on the 2nd of December 2023 and 2nd January 2024, so sounds like it will be done in batches.
'For example if the customer is successfully onboard and completes the switch on the 14th November we will pay them on the 2nd December or if a customer is successfully onboard and completes the switch on 4th of December we will pay them on the 2nd January'
I think it might just be a case of wait and see because no actual cut off date was provided. I completed and fully switched on 27/11 but going by the response they provided I am still none the wiser.

same here for me £5 in one one and out the other, have just moved it from the blue pot back to the current account so that the balance is the same. can see my cash back has started to track as well for the spending so far on the current account debit card, so hopefully will earn enough soon to get the other £10 as well. (up to £6.74 tracking so far) so dentist and hair dressers appointments this week should take that up to the remaining of the spend for the £10.Dynamo24 said:£5 blue rewards fee from current account and £5 blue rewards credit into blue rewards wallet both happened at the same time today. Fingers crossed for the incentive payment shortly, though i suspect Barclays left and right hand do not know what they are doing, so hope the info about payments this week and then again in January are correct
A poster on the cash chats facebook page has been told they via chat when asking when they will get the incentive that they are not eligible as didn't pay the £800 in one payment, where there is no mention of that being a requirement - even under the blue rewards doesn't state it has to be in one goMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
This is the same with the Natwest one, once you earned the £5 you move it via the website. The cashback is a temporary promotion so probably why it's longer - though to be fair, my £10 was moved in a couple of days. My £5 was taken this morning, 2x DD to pull next week, £170 spent so far just the £30 to clear for the second £10. After that the 2x DD are a credit card and mobile bill so I can just leave them running and keep the money in the rainy day saver until DD are dueboingy said:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Stupid Lloyds has CANCELLED my switch to Barclays on the 1st of December. Maybe a typo in the card number? It's probably my fault but still very enraging. If I do the switch again now, I won't get the bonus payment, right?
