I have to decide whether I risk switching my NatWest account which currently doesn't show any DD set up in the app, although I changed my two of my CC direct debits to it a few days ago, and yesterday initiated something from Plum. Any advice? It's annoying how the app doesn't allow one to pick a switch date in the future closer to the end of December (as implied by the offer conditions), I have to start the switch by tomorrow and then it will go through in 7 days. The alternative would be to switch my TSB account, but this still gives me £5/month cashback plus hopefully the second part of the switch incentive in February. Any advice?
I started a switch on the 30th, added two DD and they’ve appeared in my donor account today so I’m assuming that will work

Hopefully my switch will go through ok after my last day visit to the branch. I have joined blue rewards and will try and get £10 cashback after spending £200. People on here seem to be buying premium bonds, is there a reason for this? I was just going to spend £200 on petrol and xmas shopping. Thanks.

I suppose they just finding a way of using the debit card to use up the £200 spend without actually buying goods.
It up to you what you buy, it worked for me, I bought a fridge/freezer in Argos last month,£10 reward paid. This month I'm paying my council tax plus buying Xmas presents with the debit card, should cover the £200 spend probably in two transactions 👍
  • If you don't want to have actual spend, buy £200 of Premium Bonds, wait until it has tracked and transaction has cleared and withdraw the cashback and cash in the Premium Bonds again. Worked for me and OH in November, we took £199 out to keep the NS&I account open and just bought again yesterday so hopefully tracks again over the course of next week.
  • Switched on the 30th, all fine including Blue Rewards.

Logged in today, 00002 error - I had a search but can't seem to find a solution (besides calling Barclays on Monday). Anyone with any solutions? (Have reinstalled)

00002 is a security block on your app profile. Most of us Barclaycard customers got it when a new profile was created for the Barclays app and again when the two were merged. In that case reinstalling worked, as we could register again on the app with our updated profile. If yours has been blocked for a different reason, then I can't think of any other options beside trying again tomorrow and if it persists, getting in touch with them on Monday. The first time it happened to me (soon after registering), it resolved itself after a short time without me having to do anything. The second time, I had to reinstall.
  • For some weird reason when I tried to login on the website, it has my old mobile number there, despite getting a text to my new (well, for 5 years) number from Barclays on Thursday.

    Monday it is!

Someone else reported that too, although I wouldn't be able to find it in the preceding 84 pages of the thread. Hopefully you won't be summoned for a branch visit. They've probably found and merged an old profile. I found an old mobile phone number from about 20 years ago listed as my "work" number, which I had to remove, but didn't give me any problems.

Just did some digging, I had a Barclaycard account over 5 years ago, so I assume they've merged the two.

This month I'll try and see whether paying my CC with the Barclays DC works for the reward too. The conditions didn't seem to exclude that, so fingers crossed.
  • I haven't been charged the £5 (yet), I thought it was supposed to come out on the 2nd? Maybe not at weekends?
