    Just seen the never had a current account rule - do you think a child account means you cannot yet the bonus?
    I saw that on the MSE switching offers page too. I had a student account with Barclays back in the 1990s. Does that mean I won't qualify?

    It doesn’t say never had a current sccount. It says providing that you don’t HOLD a current account.

    Having spoken to them the intention is to only debar those who had one of the listed accounts at the start of the offer.

    Ive set up 2 direct debits which show on my current banks app, but payment isnt due to be taken until 3 weeks time. Does this still count as active?

    I've opened an account this morning using the app.
    I've joined Blue Rewards(think this is a requirement).

    However I cannot see how I start a switch!  Any advice please?

    Also I have not received any email confirmation from Barclays which I find a little odd. The account is fully open but no emails. This the Barclays way?

  • Applied through the app. Unbelievable faff. Couldn't confirm identity, call for a branch appointment. Number is normal banking line. A very robust automated system determined to get debit card/account details and not queue you for a human. Had to give it 5 mins of the silent treatment before it caved.

    25 minute hold. Sorry sir, next appointment in your area end of November. Or drive 40 miles for one in mid-November. 

    Strewth. Feel like I've earned my £175 already!
