  • Tried applying tonight (using iPhone app), after the app repeatedly crashed during the ID check I got to the end of the application and got "You didn't pass our credit check, but we can offer you a Barclays Basic Current Account".

    I have a perfect credit rating, so either Barclays are very picky or another error in the application process.

    Has anyone else failed the credit check unexpectedly?
    Both the standard snd Premier accounts qualify for the switch incentive. Was you trying to apply for the Premier?
    No, applied for Standard, got offered Basic (not part of switch incentive).

    Now getting error 00002 when logging into the Barclays app and it refuses to load. It seems they have merged my Barclaycard profile as I can log into my Barclaycard app and see my current account. Mobile PIN sentry and my payees seem to have come over from the switch (no communication at all about that) and it looks like I can setup new payees. I'll wait until the debit card arrives and try and activate Blue Rewards via online banking as unfortunately I don't have access to an Apple device. Barclays don't appear to have done much testing.

    If you're using an android device and have access to an iPhone or an iPad try on that but hopefully they fix the issue for the android app soon.
    Since doing this I can't now access my Barclaycard credit card via the Barclaycard app (was working fine on my android phone before signing up for blue rewards on iPhone via Barclays app) getting error 00002 after signing in and then the app closes itself. Don't want to add credit card to Barclays app (if that's even possible) in case it breaks something else.

    Makes me remember why I switched out of Barclays several years ago... Even after switching out I was getting texts every Tuesday for years alerting me that my balance is £0.00 on an account I no longer had with them.

    I'm getting the opposite. Getting that error on Barclaycard app but also doesn't show my credit card in Barclays app and can't see a way to add it.

    Device software up to date and app is the latest one. Will try uninstalling reinstalling the app then if that doesn't work guess I'll have to contact them.

    Uninstalled the Barclaycard app and reinstalled it and was able to log in without any issues other than as part of logging in you have to verify card details, mobile number etc. it asked for my Barclaycard credit card PIN I'd changed it from what they set it to when I first got the credit card in 2021 soon after I got it. So let's say they sent me the card and PIN was 1234 I'd changed it at a cash machine (or maybe in the app, can't quite remember) to 9876 but whenever I try to purchase in store using the card it's never worked but the original 1234 works so I've just left it at that and used that cause I couldn't be asked to go to a cash machine to change it again. Anyway setting up the Barclay card app it asks for the card PIN I put in 1234 twice but it's not accepting it so I then try 9876 and it worked so somehow the physical card still has the old PIN but Barclays thinks it's 9876... Normal Barclays stuff I guess?

    Anyway I can now log in to Barclays app and Barclaycard app. Barclaycard app lists the following accounts; Barclays current account, blue rewards, cashback rewards and Barclaycard credit card. Barclays app shows the first three but not my credit card.

    Hopefully I don't run into anymore issues when it comes actually switching my donor account in once direct debits are showing on it🤞

    I got that 00002 error on Thursday. I had to call them yesterday and it turned out that they merged the phone number that I had with them  from around 15 years ago, which is why the app stopped working. i had to go into my local branch today to get it changed, as they cant do it over the phone. Now got to wait for my debit card to arrive before I can generate another activation code. In the meantime my £800 is stuck in the account until I can get it up and running to withdraw it.

    I held an account earlier in the year. Sounds like I will give it a miss or risk the hassle.
  • My payee to my own account is now showing. Perhaps because the hotline set it up. Was able to transfer my funds back out but got a message RPS01 that my payment may have not gone through yet. I should wait 4 hours to check if it has left the account and if not to try sending it again. Funds still showing. Still unable to activate blue rewards.
