is it APP only (dont do apps), or on PC as well
The t&cs clearly state that uou have to apply via the app, so it looks like you will have to give this one a miss.
Any particular reason that you wont use an app?

There are lots of people that won't bank via an app. I personally absolutely do not. this is just a personal preference after conversing with people I know that develop apps.
There are many many more that do bank via apps and they are just as secure as using a pc. The convenience of them and what you can do with them is great as well.
  • Can anyone tell me if the direct debits have to be part of the switch or can you do them seperately?

The DDs need to be already on the account being switched in:
Complete a full Current Account Switch via the Barclays App from another provider, this must include at least 2 active direct debits, to your eligible account using the Current Account Switch Service

Apps also run on tablets, and you can operate some Android phones from a PC.

Doing your banking through apps is probably more secure than doing it on a PC.

I have made the application through the app, but it now says they can offer me the Premier Account (which I do not want) and if I don't want that, I need to go into branch.  Anyone know how that works with the switch bonus?

Or can I get the Premier account but not pay in my salary (which is against the terms) and downgrade, as I wasn't looking to change my main bank account, only my 'donor account'?

So opened via app, switch requested, no mention of switching bonus though? Is that right or have I missed something?

Banks don't usually mention the bonus until you've met all the conditions for the offer.

My 2 direct debits are going to be paid before the switch completes. I'm not going to be able to get a £5 payment in December to offset the first fee unless I conjure up another 2 direct debits to be paid later in November?
Oh and I've got the UD001 error mentioned earlier. Will try later this month in the app or try the online banking workaround mentioned on page 1 of this thread.
  • Just seen the never had a current account rule - do you think a child account means you cannot yet the bonus?
