Does anyone know what date the £800 has to be in the account by each month to quality?

Any time.  As long as it goes in some time in the month, that's all that matters.  It doesn't have to stay in, either; you can take it straight back out again.

... that part is clear ... but

... I read that as having had one of the listed accounts before 31st October 2023 ... but

If you have opened one of the listed accounts since (and including) 31st October 2023 and closed it before the day of the application then you will not be ineligible.

Maybe they are covering the fact that some people might close their accounts who had it before 31/10 and then reopen in an attempt to get the incentive!

I asked for my sister via chat, if she had held an account in the past but had closed it, would she be eligible for the incentive and they said yes.

Well I've just been on the phone to their 'complaints' team (the only way I could speak to someone) and it is exactly that. I was advised that the fact that I had a Barclays Bank Account between 1972 and 1981 would not make me ineligible.

The trouble is the wording ... maybe 'before' needs to be replaced with 'since'.

The t&cs clearly state that uou have to apply via the app, so it looks like you will have to give this one a miss.
Any particular reason that you wont use an app?

Hmm, in that case there's a glitch (in the matrix). When I try to activate it I get an error code - UD001

I got that error as I set it up on my android device. I then set up my account on my iPhone and it worked fine.

Yeah, App only. You could always install the app for a month then uninstall it again.

There are lots of people that won't bank via an app. I personally absolutely do not. this is just a personal preference after conversing with people I know that develop apps.
