The 5% cashback deal for £200 spend is specific to debit card use.GlasgowExpat2 said:
@boingy Did you make the payment using your debit card or a bank transfer?boingy said:
Just to confirm that sending £200 to my NS&I Direct Saver a few days ago has now shown up as £10 cashback in the Barclays app. More free money. I'll do the same next month.masonic said:
Unlikely, but it depends how the transaction is categorised. Someone mentioned sending cash to a family member via PayPal worked, as did a payment to NS&I.gwiddecommbe said:Just looking at the 5% cashback rewards (up to £10 per month in Nov and Dec). Would this work if I made a £200 debit card payment to say my revolut account?1 -
Hi. Yes it gets asked most evenings because Barclays seem to switch off that function evenings/early in the morning. If you try tomorrow it Wil work fine.Mudchild said:Hi, sorry if this has been raised somewhere in the preceeding 38 pages, but I'm trying to do the switch through the Barclays app as instructed, but it's telling me that in order to register for the app, I need to have a Barclays bank card or similar Barclays product already... so how does that work?

I find that really weird. I don't know if they still do it but the Companies House website used only be fully operational in office hours.Largs said:

Help! I've got the Barclays app, account is opened, opened Blue Rewards, etc, BUT when I try switching my old Lloyds Classic account using the switching service via the App, I get a "We're sorry, your old Bank doesnt offer the Current Account Switching Service" message.
Why wouldn't Lloyds offer this?!
Has anyone else had this problem? If I have to apply in branch, will I lose the £175 incentive?!0 -
It's be worth trying again at another time - the app seems to go a bit weird when you try to do things overnight.Money_Hunny said:Help! Sorry if this has been covered previously but i do not have any photo ID . Only a bus pass and an expired passport. Has anyone proved ID in the branch and still received the bonus?0

FWIW I had to phone up to make an appointment due to wanting ID after I'd completed the application in the app. I asked if I'd still qualify if the account wasn't opened on the app due to this, and was told on the phone that an account can be opened in branch as long as everything else is done in the app(assuming you haven't been disqualified by a previous account, etc).
