It’s not looking good so far. I will give it til Friday and if it’s no success will open a NS&I account and try that.miller said:
It didn't work for me. I didn't try Skipton, but assumed the Merchant Category Code (MCC) would be similar to YBS. Opened an NS&I Direct Saver, deposited 2 days ago, not showing yet, but assume it will given others' experiences. The MCC for the Direct Saver is "Government Services" which is probably not on Barlcays' exlucded list.Volcane said:
I,m going to try similar by paying into my Yorkshire building society savings account. It works for the Halifax so it just might do here too…. Will report back.boingy said:
Just to confirm that sending £200 to my NS&I Direct Saver a few days ago has now shown up as £10 cashback in the Barclays app. More free money. I'll do the same next month.masonic said:
Unlikely, but it depends how the transaction is categorised. Someone mentioned sending cash to a family member via PayPal worked, as did a payment to NS&I.gwiddecommbe said:Just looking at the 5% cashback rewards (up to £10 per month in Nov and Dec). Would this work if I made a £200 debit card payment to say my revolut account?
Is it just savings account with NS&I or has anybody had success with buying premium bonds?Best Regards,

In terms of getting the cashback, how long does it take to set up a NS&I Direct Saver from scratch and fund it?0
-
I funded mine at the point of application, so effectively instant. It has a minimum operating balance of £1, so I assume you must fund it immediately, but could be wrong.

no, nothing here, only know it must have been accepted is because i can see that the payees for faster payments i had on the donor account is now showing on barclays and as I had not added any directly on barclays, thats how i am assuming it is in progress.gwiddecommbe said:Thanks, also did anyone get an email confirmation after initiating the switch via the app? My wife got the same message this morning @03.26amexplorerm said:Also I just received a notification from the Barclays app saying they have have completed their checks and to open the app to continue my application !??She had failed the ID check when setting up the app nearly 2 weeks ago and so has had to make an appointment to go into branch to do the ID and has the appointment tomorrow (actually the 2nd appointment as when we went to the first one last week at our nearest Barclays hub the only member of staff there said she hadn't had the training to do ID Checks and didn't have access to the right bit of the system...pretty basic stuff you would have thought!).Anyway when that message came up we thought great no need to trapse 10 miles tomorrow. But logging onto the app she still gets the same "we cannot verify your ID" message so still can't progress. So absolutely no idea why they sent the notification this morning as clearly they haven't completed checks and cleared her ID.So we will still have to go to the branch appointment tomorrow and hope it gets sorted then0 -
explorerm said:I successfully opened a Barclays account on 12/11(Sunday) after installing the Barclays app on my iPhone. All worked fine, I intended to start the switch a few days later.
But when I try to open Barclays app now I’m getting an error code 00002 and can’t get into the app. I also have a Barclaycard app on the same phone and that still works fine and I can see my current account there.
I read earlier in the thread that the 00002 error seems to resolve itself after a few days ……BUT I’ve realised I’ve used a different email address for my current account to the email address on my Barclaycard. Also I just received a notification from the Barclays app saying they have have completed their checks and to open the app to continue my application !??Anyone else encountered this problem, or any suggestions please?
TIA00002 indicates a temporary freeze on the profile, which happens when they need to merge it with another (and in the case of suspicious activity). I don't think the different email address would be a problem, the mobile phone number is what they use to match and merge the profiles.I had my Barclays app display this error for a few hours before it spontaneously went away, but yesterday I had the same on my Barclaycard app. I resolved this by clearing data and setting up the app again using my credit card, and once re-registered I could see both accounts. My Barclays app is still ok, and is only showing my current account for now. I'm hoping with day 4 tomorrow, the Barclays app will be fully operational and I'll be able to view my card details and add a payee, but who knows...0 -
@boingy Did you make the payment using your debit card or a bank transfer?boingy said:

Just to update: this appeared in my available cashback later today which I've requested (£10) so only 2 days after I made the debit card payment on Monday.miller said:

Hi, sorry if this has been raised somewhere in the preceeding 38 pages, but I'm trying to do the switch through the Barclays app as instructed, but it's telling me that in order to register for the app, I need to have a Barclays bank card or similar Barclays product already... so how does that work?
thanks
