  • Thanks, also did anyone get an email confirmation after initiating the switch via the app? I didn't get anything so hoping it did go through OK after I pressed submit on the last page.

Just looking at the 5% cashback rewards (up to £10 per month in Nov and Dec). Would this work if I made a £200 debit card payment to say my revolut account?
Unlikely, but it depends how the transaction is categorised. Someone mentioned sending cash to a family member via PayPal worked, as did a payment to NS&I.
Just to confirm that sending £200 to my NS&I Direct Saver a few days ago has now shown up as £10 cashback in the Barclays app. More free money. I'll do the same next month.

I,m going to try similar by paying into my Yorkshire building society savings account. It works for the Halifax so it just might do here too…. Will report back.

Is anyone getting the error code rps01 when making a payment, and to wait 4 hours, I've tried making a payment for tomorrow and it seems to have gone through  we shall see
Yes, already discussed on the thread. It's a security thing as it's a new account and presumably you're paying in and trying to pay out again quickly? Give it 4 hours, you may need to try again and await a call from their security team, or ring up and go through it with their staff to authorise the payment

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • First switch - if I start the account opening and switch now having just transferred 2x DD over to the account I intend to switch, will Barclays honour it as 2+ DD for the cash back criteria? I assume the DD will appear soon in the account I’m intending to switch but they’re not yet showing in the app. First is PayPal and second is National Lottery. New to this but looks like it could be lucrative. Thanks!

I'll be using Ulster and then PayPal and MoneyBox for the direct debits. I'm hoping these work for the switch.

I also don't think Ulster will show me an active DD until it goes out because I don't think it did for RBS, so the same system is probably in place.
Ive been worried about this wanting to switch an Ulster one. Will you still switch before the first DD payment is taken?
I'll wait for them to make sure they go though fine. I've added MoneyBox as well, so there's three DDs that could go out within the next week.

The Barclays Blue reward requires 2 DD to be taken, not just present, to get the £5, however, they don't charge you in the first month (in theory).

    Current account cash reward
Get £5 a month for successfully paying two or more Direct Debits from your nominated account.

As such, next month, so as long as you have the 2x DD pulling (i.e. your paypal and national lottery DDs both take money) and pay in the £800 (even if you take it out straight away), you get the £5 back, which will cover the £5 fee taken on the second day of the month

    Failed id check...
First I tried my passport but this failed and prompted for a different id so I tried my driver's licence. It said it needed to check and a while later said I needed to book a branch appointment.
I deleted and re-installed the app then tried again from scratch. This time passport was accepted immediately and I proceeded to open a/c, initiate switch and turn on blue rewards without issue.

  • Signed up to switch on November 8th.  I put money  in to current account. Can't get money to transfer out.   I keep getting RPSO1 MESSAGE . I rang bank at they said nothing wrong at will have to wait till the 16th when switch is complete !!!!
    Hope it works then
Any body else having same problem?
