I'll be using Ulster and then PayPal and MoneyBox for the direct debits. I'm hoping these work for the switch.

I also don't think Ulster will show me an active DD until it goes out because I don't think it did for RBS, so the same system is probably in place.

Hi, I am the same as you Ulster/Moneybox and PayPal.  You don't see the Direct Debits until paid but the new bank will get a list fine.

Me too. I’m also switching Ulster and using an Ulster credit card and a Halifax credit card as the DD’s

I've decided to use Plum for this because I can't get into my MoneyBox account, and I think that and PayPal are set up. Hopefully everything goes smoothly for all three of us here.

Has anyone else been waiting over 10 days for a physical debit card to be delivered?

Both me and my wife opened new accounts on Friday 3 November, and neither one of us has received a debit card in the post.

Ive been worried about this wanting to switch an Ulster one. Will you still switch before the first DD payment is taken?

It seems like Ulster is a popular choice. To be on the safe side, I'm adding three DDs and arranging for two of them to pull during the 7 day switch (in case the originators delay setting them up). Paypal is usually fast, so I have no concerns about that one.
  • Just looking at the 5% cashback rewards (up to £10 per month in Nov and Dec). Would this work if I made a £200 debit card payment to say my revolut account?

Unlikely, but it depends how the transaction is categorised. Someone mentioned sending cash to a family member via PayPal worked, as did a payment to NS&I.
