App continues to work correctly after the initial settling in issues as reported.
Blue rewards was all set up without issue too.
Will update when switch incentive money paid.0 -

Hi again,
I made this application for myself and it has gone through fine. Now doing it for a family member but it says "sorry we can't complete the account opening in the App". Need to go to branch with ID. Does this mean it becomes ineligible for the switching bonus as the account won't be opened in the App, which is required?
Many thanks.0 -

I took both the required items into the branch three days ago and made sure I had my fully charged (Android) phone with me.
It took over an hour, but the very helpful and businesslike employee I saw eventually sorted it all out for me (not without having to refer to a colleague more than once). She tinkered with various items on her own laptop, but made sure the relevant actions were carried out within the app on my phone and confirmed that I will still qualify for the switching bonus.0 -
My sister also has to go into the branch for ID. Her appointment is on Wednesday but she says that when it said about going into the branch it stated that you finish the opening process on the App, so in theory the account has still been opened on the App as applied and completed.0

I’ve lost access to the Barclaycard app for my credit card, now I’ve opened a Barclays account. do I need to add this as an account on the Barclays app itself? Or will it merge automatically?

However I fixed the Barclay card app by uninstalling it and installing and logging into it again. Now I have both accounts in both apps, I'll probably keep it this way in case I experience more issues in the Barclays app so I have something to fall back on and I'll probably end up deleting the Barclays app once I eventually switch the Barclays current account out for some other switching bonus.0 -
Well reading the comments on here, i was expecting the application to be more hassle than it was worth, but luckily have managed to apply, provide id and get my account open in one go, have switched on blue rewards and started the switch all one after the other so only took around 15 mins or so this morning
They have given me a switch date of 21 November, which should give enough time for the first payments to plum, money box and PayPal to debit for the first time. They all showing on the sacrificial account, as being set up on 7 to 10 november and one of which showing as being claimed for first payment already (plum).
only thing i will need to remember to do is to pay in the £800 for the blue rewards part, but reading on here with times for money to be allowed out after, may wait a few days for that, or put it in the account in stages, once i have the debit card as a back up method to withdraw. my plan is (as long as switch the mandates ok, will use plum and money box to qualify for the rewards dd to advoid the fee on their weekly top up option, and will do a manual pull from PayPal if any issues with either of them.
will be interesting to see if the latest interpretation of the terms is right, and will get the switch payment as had no account at with barclays on 31 October (though did do a number of years back) as had been one of the lucky one to benefit from the double rewards when blue rewards was actually something of use lol.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..1
