Really shouldn't be dependant on what meter you've got
It really should and glad it is.

I am a firm believer that anyone without a smart meter should not have access to any reduced rate tariffs. If they want some innovative saving tariffs and reduce rate winter tariffs on offer agree to having a smart meter installed or cut off your nose to spite your face.
I don't feel a smart meter is of any use to the consumer.

Any benefits are all supplier related. I do not believe the BS they keep saying that smart meters are for the benefit of the consumer

I've got a lovely working dial meter and tend to keep it as long as possible
Enjoy paying your 27p a unit tomorrow then whilst mine is below 11.5p

Our nearly £1,000 saved just this year (~£930 as of 1st October) thanks to a smart tariff would disagree …

*To clarify, a smart tariff that requires minimal load shifting and does not require any expensive tech, therefore open to pretty much all (except maybe those on legacy TOU tariffs - e.g. Economy 7, Economy 10, 20:20 - due to storage heaters, and those who can't have a smart meter for whatever reason.)

I find this a bit vague if you have debt. Yes you get 50% off your tariff but are your d/d payments based on the lower tariff price, the full tariff price or with the debt also rolled in.
I’m assuming it’s at the full tariff price with the difference going towards the debt but it’s not clear

Good you picked up on this and also good they have people eligible who are not on the current WHD.

I'm eligible for the scheme under the Warm Home Discount payment which i received last week, yet eon say i'm not and to complete a budget sheet with access to my bank account, through Paylink.

They only quote the eligibility under the need for medical equipment or income being under £19,000, no mention of the Warm Home Discount which is one of the criteria.

I've sent the scheme link to them and proof of the WHD payment from them to me yet they still say the same.

I already have a smart meter.

    A question.

How will they know how much you earn?
Even though i'm eligible under the WHD payment which i've received, they've asked me to complete income and expenses because they say i'm not eligible, they'll know because you've to link your bank account to it.

And they're telling people who are on WHD, like me, that they're not eligible.

There is multiple requirements, assuming the updated article is now accurate.  So WHD status alone is not enough.
