Good evening! 🌖
Think I overdid it yesterday as today I felt very lacklustre! Have just chilled and rested up. Managed 15 press ups haha. Better than nothing though. Just having a tidy round and will do my mindfulness and make my bed lol. I'm so behind.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Nice chats with mates
2) Nice food I prepped yesterday
3) The windy rainy Autumn day that was nice to look out on
Today was a spend day. NSD total = 1
Hopefully will feel perkier tomorrow gang. Hugs all xx⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Congratulations on your win @f0xh0les!
NSD#2
Did a different yoga routine today, haven't done it for months, so know my abs will be sore tomorrow! Work went well.
Made 2 cards when I got home. Phoned the chimney sweep, as I'd not had replies for my 2 messages. He's coming tomorrow, so another thing ticked off the list.
Did my 100 skips after tea. Looked at some jeans that need taking in. Thought it was @3 or 4", but no, it's 11"!!!! Messaged the customer to say it'll be s lot more work, so the price for each pair will be dearer. I had hoped aged say it'd be cheaper to buy new pairs, but no... Started pinning darts for the first pair. Think the air will be blue before I've finished!
Grateful for the chimney sweep finally coming, rainbows, getting s couple of smaller jobs ticked off my listUse it up, wear it out

Right time, term is underway, time to pick up the pieces and sort out my head a bit. Turns out my job has free Headspace - have just signed up for app, but then did have a glass of wine instead of yoga before going to bed. As it goes. Happy days.
Edit - got up early and continued work from last night - so have now contacted an accountant who might help with taxes on my grant, have written a profile text for my new print workshop membership, have one more profile and report to do. All was due in August - but I have been too scared to say what I actually did or didn't do while I was at print residency. Sorry this is all a bit art and business related. But basically I am worried about living on repeat - where I do work, but never show it, because I don't know how to finish it.
Won't happen this time, so will I will dedicate October to share and edit.
Evenings will be scanning receipts from the summer and sorting out my expenses it all went a bit wild in the summer am on food only between now and Christmas.
Sorry for long rant, but I am through my beginning of term tornado and I am ready to ride the wave and have fun with my artwork and with students. Hope everybody is well. Will try to keep up with writing and gratitude's this month.
Todays gratitude is getting up early and completing something.
For exchange students next week, as should make up for not working cover this Friday - as is going to Kew with Uni students, that should be nice. And it is supporting a good intercultural project.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

'Do Not Ask Your Children To Strive' by William Martin
Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives.
Such striving may seem admirable,
but it is the way of foolishness.
Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
Show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand
And make the ordinary come alive for them.
The extraordinary will take care of itself
I can normally tell how intelligent a man is by how stupid he thinks I am
Wellness Wednesday
Decide on being positive today
Make a 'to do' list that includes you
Meal plan- eat healthy today
Remember to hydrate
Be kind to you, no negative talk
Be active - get that blood pumping (sometimes just standing up is enough to do that)
Do something that makes you happy
Unplug for a little while, if you can
Do a kindness for someone, if you can
Plan on getting enough sleep
(You do not need to do all of these things, or any of them - these are optional extras, suggestions and some reminders)
I decided to take an aerobics class. I bent, twisted, gyrated and jumped up and down for an hour, but by the time I got my leotard on, the class was over.

Thank you everyone for the lovely welcome! I was a bit behind, as Tuesday is my "in the office day" and I always arrive home super tired, but I read through the thread this morning and am loving the calm tone of this thread.
Today is my NSD #3, and aiming to keep it that way. I have already completed one major work task for the day, still have 1 and a half to go, then I can just follow the flow of the day and finish bits and bobs and keep up with emails and urgent requests. I am looking to do a pilates or gentle yoga class at lunch time, trying to stay focused so I can make it.
Later I need to do the Wednesday Bathroom Clean (I always end up cleaning the bathroom on Wednesdays and Fridays, not sure why!) and then I want to make a bit of progress in the cardigan I am knitting for my OH - I wanted to finish the yoke increases today, which is 16 rows - and continue preparing the stock for a Christmas craft fair in December (my very first fair).
Today I am grateful for:- Not having to travel to the office again this week
- The risotto leftover I made Monday night which is waiting for me at lunch
- Prolonged morning cuddles with my dog

I now have 2 kids off school 'sick'. They have been told they can stay home today, but tomorrow they are all in school until term ends next Friday (99.7% average attendance rate) I feel like I am being played now. They have done some work online and DS3 is sorting through his GCSE study guides. This morning I have been to the dentist and have a temporary filling until the middle of November when they can do a permanent filling. It would have taken them 2 minutes more to just do it now (small grrr!) so £25 on dental expenses today (polyfiller), and £44 odd next month for the actual filling. The diary for the first 6 months of next year is filling up at an alarming rate (sadly not with work dates for me).Need to concentrate on enjoying this part of the year, the autumn leaves and sloe berries bit, and wellies and puddles, rather than race toward the C-Word and Year's End and 2024.Right. this washing up won't do itself.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I travelled to and from yesterday's appointment by taxi. The distance from here to the bus stop (2-3 blocks) and from the bus stop in the infirmary grounds to the building (1 -2 blocks as each car park improvement means pedestrians have further to go) was quite enough to half drown me (the second taxi driver complained about me coming out of the building just as it was starting to rain. I bought hay fever tablets at the infirmary pharmacy but they only had 14 days worth (the task of finding shops selling stuff I would have got at Wilko, is turning into a whole shopping category by itself).
The appointment was good, a very experienced lady and a trainee shadowing her. The problem is that my feet are turning inwards when I stand up, so I'm not balanced at all and may be the source of most of my recent walking difficulties. My heel also needs extra support. Don't bother buying the S-ketch-ers arch fit beanie. She didn't rate them - the mesh fabric isn't supporting my feet enough. She did like the 'fashion' trainers I bought (one pair turquoise and one duck egg to go with the colours I love the most) as they were lace ups, had a good solid base and the fabric was very sturdy.
She fitted me with a pair of their 'off the shelf' innersoles (she says the assistants hate her going in Clarks to buy children's shoes as the fitting courses she's been on are much more in depth than their's). I have to wear them in, increasing the time by half an hour a day and go back in 6-8 weeks unless I start having problems with them, in which case I can go back sooner. All the standing, sitting and walking about had exhausted me, so I just came home (I had 3 alternatives if I had any surplus energy). I dragged myself upstairs and rested then at 4 pm I dragged myself back downstairs and filled 3 more bags of garden waste. Ate, gathered more drinks and came back upstairs.
Grateful for all NHS staff, my bed and getting more garden work done.
My knees and ankles are still aching so I'm staying up here for now (lots of tidying to do and DS3 is downstairs if any parcels come. I have a delivery scheduled for mid to late afternoon so I'm going to try doing a couple of shopping bits postponed from yesterday (I have a list of shops that might have the right hay fever pills and need a couple of craft items - my pritt stick has run out, I'm not going to buy bolts of cloth). I have linen sheets on my wish list and more organic cotton towels but the best time to buy things like that always used to be January but I have sent for a mattress and pillow protectors and 2 new boxy pillows that are supposed to be best for side- sleepers. I'm going for small practical improvements that make my life better.
I'm going to put my footwear on now. I'll put a couple of library books in my bag so if I can only make it as far as the library, i'll have achieved something. Aiming to return to the great litter hunt later and fill another bin bag, ready for the empty bins (I'm doing the under couches/ tables and chairs, stuff that's fallen down into gaps and stuff taht's been there so long I just don't see it anymore (or in some cases try not to see it because seeing it doesn't always mean you can get at it without moving multiple items of furniture) and risking serious bodily harm. just had a text about flu jab clinic so this Saturday so will try to get to that to8 -
Grandmanerd ~~ hope the insoles help.I have been warned about Sketchers before & now only have a very old pair I wear for short periods. I now buy expensive shoes that work for me.
