Nationwide Switch Offer £200 September 2023

Yes, I switched from TSB to Nationwide two days ago. I'm now using my 2nd TSB profile login details and also have the old TSB account still showing at a zero balance renamed as per yours. If you go to the three dots/manage account it tells me they are sorry, but this feature isn't available for the account type. I put that down to TSB's wonky IT infrastructure, and as this is a surplus current account I'll just leave it and hopefully it will eventually vanish.orange-juice said:Anyone switched from a TSB spend and save account? The account is still visible on their app but is now labelled as Personal Switch Out Account. Just wondering if that’s expected?
The switch was meant to have completed yesterday and paying money using my old TSB account details is forwarded to the new NW account. Payees and DDs are both visible on the NW account.1 -

Thanks for confirming. I thought as much. Worried in case it didn’t count as a closure as part of the incentive t&cs. Will wait and report back.PloughmansLunch said:

Apologies, but I've not had a reply to my previous questions and would be grateful if anyone can assist. Thanks.worriednoob said:Hello guys.
I've just checked our Virgin Money joint account and can now see 2 x Paypal DD's setup which are Active. We've also gone into Paypal and chosen 'Add Money' and added £1 via Virgin Money DD for both PayPal accounts. Paypal activity shows that the DDs will be taken out on 26 Oct for both accounts.
So my questions are:-- Can we now go ahead and open a joint Nationwide account?
 - If Yes, since we are already sole Nationwide account holders, what is the process of now opening a joint account instead?
 - Assuming we can go ahead, we want to play it safe incase there was an issue with the DDs, so what date should we set the switch to take place?

You can open the joint account at any time and then initiate a switch at a later date. The process is described here: https://www.nationwide.co.uk/current-accounts/help/get-joint-current-account/
I'd personally just hold off initiating the switch to make sure everything goes through on the 26th, otherwise just schedule it for as far in advance as you can (usually 30 days). You can then set up a quick backup DD with a charity or something if there are issues.

Thanks very much @PRAI@PRAISETHESUN . Have a look at the below screenshots for Paypal and Virgin Money. Not sure whether this is good enough to go ahead. My worry is that if I left it till later, there's a risk that Nationwide may pull the switch offer, but if I went ahead and my paypal DD didn't go ahead, then I won't get the switch incentive.PRAISETHESUN said:You can open the joint account at any time and then initiate a switch at a later date. Take the PayPal dates with a pinch of salt, they are terrible. I had one that took a month to arrive onceworriednoob said:

Go ahead, as long as the DD are set up and active they are going to pay. My OH set up two DD from inactive credit cards, meaning no DD was taken for months on one and over a year on the other CC but they showed as active and payment arrived 3 days after the switch date.worriednoob said:

My application for a FlexDirect has been rejected. Just a brief email, no reason given. Earlier this week I complained again that I had nothing about the account set up and this time they raised a formal complaint. It will be interesting to see how the complaint is handled.1

Thanks @antuk and @pecunianonolet. Apologies, but both of your experiences and advice are the opposite, so forgive me if I'm a little apprehensive. As you can see from the screenshots, when logging into Virgin Money on my PC, the DDs shows status unavailable, but when I login to the Virgin Money app on my phone, the DDs show as "Due" and "Active", so unsure why that is the case.

They are set up and showing and that is important. You could also call Virgin and ask them to confirm but I would go ahead. The offer is live for some time now so could be pulled anytime.worriednoob said:Thanks @antuk and @pecunianonolet.
