Thanks very much @WillPS and @PRAISETHESUN

I've now gone ahead and linked our 2 separate paypal accounts with our joint Virgin Money account.  Paypal sent a 4-digitt code which we entered to confirm the account.  However, when we check the Virgin Money account, it's not showing any DDs - How long does Paypal take before it shows on the bank account?

Also I'm a bit confused with Paypal - Does an actual payment need to be taken or is it just a matter of setting up the DD without any payment?

If a payment needs to be take, do I need to purchase something?

    Thanks again

Takes about 5 working days for a direct debit mandate to fully establish. Check it on Friday then Monday.
Thanks very much.  If it eventually shows, will we need to buy something from ebay or paypal, i.e. does an actual payment need to come out of Virgin account to paypal?

I would add £1 to your PayPal balance via the app (tap your balance, then add money, then select the Virgin Money account as the source). This will then go through as soon as the mandate is ready.

Thanks buddy.  Although there's no confirmation or the balance showing a £1.00 has been added, I think it's done it because it popped up with biometrics on the phone before jumping back to the Paypal balance screen.

If you click on Wallet>Activity it should show -£1, with an estimated date of collection from the bank account

Unfortunately, it's not showing anything for both Paypal accounts.  The last activity is for Dec 2022.

Just looking to take this offer up (again) and have a couple of queries...

I had this offer before but it was over 2.5 years ago that i received the switch bonus (although just under a year since i switched out to HSBC)

I also have an HSBC credit card that i assume this wont be affected by closing the current account?

Also, when going to the Nationwide switch page there are a couple of options; 1: Switch to a new flex direct and
2: to log in and switch if you are already a Nationwide member.

Now i don't know if my old customer number would work or if doing it that way could lead to complications and i should start fresh?

    Anyone know either way?

    Thanks.
Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone! just doesn't cut it...:think::huh: and these don't come close

If you don't currently have any products with Nationwide then you aren't an existing customer. Apply as if you're a new customer.

I’ve had my switch payout today. I’ve now run out of of switching offers I can use. Here’s hoping Santander do another one for existing customers as I missed the last…. My only other hope is that Barclays finally do one too but not holding out much hope for that. The well has run dry for now…

Did you do the Coop refer a friend offer? OH and I waiting for payout on that one. Otherwise the same, hoping for Santander. My nationwide switch date is the 19th, set it far into the future not to risk DD but OH already got the bonus easily and only moved two credit card DD over with both cards not in use for months and therefore no DD taken for months. Looks like the only requirement is to have them set up and showing as active.

Yes, Co-op done, still waiting for payout too. Will use that account as a donor account when no longer needed and next switch deal is available as I don’t like the app and the account itself doesn’t give me any benefits once the refer a friend option is ended.
    Best Regards,
