Hi, quick question, do i need to have the 2 DD set up before I switch to Nationwide or can I do this after the switch?

EDIT - I just answered my own question, I called them to check. You have to have the 2 DD's setup BEFORE you switch in order to qualify for the bonus

Hi.  I moved 3 direct debits to an old Natwest account and on the same day applied to Nationwide for the Flex account.  I selected a date in November for the switch to take place and hope it all goes through for the £200 reward.  With Natwest they don't actually show you if the direct debits have been set up until the 1st payment has been claimed.  So will need to wait and see what happens in November.
  • As promised I have an update.... both of our flexdirect accounts have now received a text to say that we will receive £200 and although these are not showing as yet, we should get them very soon :)

Can confirm I just got that text too. Guess they send the texts in batches hah.
  • Yes same here.

Switch completed Tuesday and text received today saying I will get the switching incentive within 10 days.

Did you REALLY need to call them? Both brief and full T&C are perfectly clear about this:
    • Make sure your non-Nationwide account has 2 or more active Direct Debits

You must transfer a minimum of 2 active Direct Debits from the current account being switched to the Nationwide account as part of the switch. Direct Debits set up or transferred after your switch has been started will not count towards this offer.

Well that was very quick for us, haha.  Just checked and both accounts have got their £200 switch incentives, so happy days and I hope it gives others the confidence to take the plunge and switch.  Oh and a very big thank you to all of you who have helped.  It's really appreciated  :)

As per my previous post, I've started a new post, because I wanted to ask different questions:-
    1. Since we've now received our £200 each from Nationwide and Plum/Moneybox are still taking money, can we go ahead and cancel these DD's?
    2. How do we now open a Joint account with Nationwide? FYI, we plan to move VirginMoney (joint) to Nationwide (joint).
    3. Plum/Moneybox are currently setup as our DD's for our individual accounts, so how do we now set these up so that DDs are taken from our Virgin Money joint account?
    4. Would we need to close our individual Nationwide accounts and open a new Joint Nationwide account or are we okay to leave these open?
    5. Will another hard credit check be done by Nationwide?
    6. Has anyone had any success in getting a joint incentive with Nationwide?
    Thanks in advance

If all goes to plan, I'll have managed £1850 this year in bank switching for the first time. Probably be a couple of years before we can work through and rinse again but can't knock free money
What's your credit score like? Did it drop a lot with lots of switches in a short space of time?
