  • Anybody received the NW bonus this time after getting it last year? I switched with them in 2022 and got the bonus. In that time I have had 2 Lloyds bonuses and 2 Halifax bonues. Plus First direct twice in the last 2 years and the triple crown from Natwest group for £600. Will only do Nationwide if it is likely to work though. :)

If all goes to plan, I'll have managed £1850 this year in bank switching for the first time. Probably be a couple of years before we can work through and rinse again but can't knock free money
What's your credit score like? Did it drop a lot with lots of switches in a short space of time?
I am currently on £1825 since December 2022

Waiting for Nationwide £200 and TSB £75

Also received £150 from Yougov Finance since May with another £50 by the middle of November

Regarding credit score it can't be a problem I have 10 bank accounts and don't need credit

Switched completed yesterday, bonus qualification confirmed this morning, £200 in the back pocket of the Farah by 2pm. Nationwide are consistently good.

Hoping they do the Fairer Share again in March, Regular Saver already open in anticipation. Missed out on last years switch by a few days, so was kicking myself.

  • My account switched on Monday 9th, joint account switched on Wednesday 11th, got text for both and bonuses for both today. Just got the Mrs to open and initiate a switch for her personal account, due to switch on the 24th, can't see a reason she won't get it. Easy £600
  • As per my previous post, I've started a new post, because I wanted to ask different questions:-
    1. Since we've now received our £200 each from Nationwide and Plum/Moneybox are still taking money, can we go ahead and cancel these DD's?
    2. How do we now open a Joint account with Nationwide? FYI, we plan to move VirginMoney (joint) to Nationwide (joint).
    3. Plum/Moneybox are currently setup as our DD's for our individual accounts, so how do we now set these up so that DDs are taken from our Virgin Money joint account?
    4. Would we need to close our individual Nationwide accounts and open a new Joint Nationwide account or are we okay to leave these open?
    5. Will another hard credit check be done by Nationwide?
    6. Has anyone had any success in getting a joint incentive with Nationwide?
    Thanks in advance
Can anyone please help me with the above questions?  Thanks very much.

    1) Yes - once the incentive is paid there is no requirement to maintain the DDs

    2) https://www.nationwide.co.uk/current-accounts/help/get-joint-current-account/

    3) You need to change your nominated account in their respective apps, and this should then set up a new DD:

    https://help.withplum.com/en/articles/2568709-how-do-i-change-my-main-linked-bank-account

    4) You can have both sole and joint Nationwide accounts - no need to close anything. If you don't intend to use them, just keep them aside to use as donors for another switch offer in the future.

    5) In my experience yes - there is a hard credit check for every new account opened.

    6) 1 x sole and 1 x joint incentive is explicitly allowed by the T&Cs, so there shouldn't be any issues. Don't think anyone has reported success getting the incentive twice for the same switch type though.

Thanks so much for your helpful answers.  I've got a bit of a problem because plum and moneybox are for sole accounts and not joint.  So assuming that we're going to be using our virgin money joint account, which account holder's plum/moneybox shall we use?
  • I haven't used them with joint accounts so I don't know for sure how it would work, but I don't see any reason why you both couldn't just link the same joint account in each of your respective apps? (ie. set up 4 DDs by each linking your sole Moneybox/Plum accounts to the same joint account). Otherwise you'd need to juggle around some other DDs, or switch a sole account into the joint one.

That's a good idea.   We'll try and move all 4 to our joint account. Thanks again.

An update on this.  Plum have said they can't linked a joint bank account.  Moneybox have said they can.  So I've re-linked our Virgin Money joint account to Moneybox.  We'll have to wait a few working days to know if it's worked.  Now I'm thinking assuming the moneybox one works, which other DD shall I try and link?
