  • Has anyone switched before with Plum and Moneybox as their Direct Debits, I wondered how it worked because with Plum its via open banking so will Plum auto change the Opening Banking to Nationwide? As the clause says about adding or transferring after won't get the switch bonus?
Yes quite a few times - plum and moneybox are my go-to direct debits for switching. I also link the account (NB. Not debit card) to PayPal as that counts as a live direct debit too.

So Plum just moves over, do you need to add the new account to plum so it has the open banking or does that all sort itself out?
  • Grrrr….. opened one of these accounts only 3 months ago !!!
    Best Regards,

You can still get the switch incentive if you switch another account to it.
  • Really? I interpret clause 10b of the exclusions to qualifying as not being able to…. Am I misunderstanding ?

The question did you just open an account, or did you switch into the newly opened account and get a switch bonus?

if you got a switch bonus then no, you clearly don't qualify.
I would need to re read the conditions if you have a new account

Luckily I have not just opened the new saver 2 but also started a switch .
My TSB has 2 x DDs groomed and ready to go. Hopefully done & dusted by the end of the month.

I linked my switched-into account in plum and removed the old account once the switch had taken place. I only use plum and moneybox for bare minimum DDs to qualify for requirements and not for any proper savings so wasn't in any rush, but it only takes a few seconds to do pull through the new info anyway.
  • There's a thread discussing various ways to artificially generate DDs if you're struggling to find some here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6445857/savings-investment-dds-and-debit-card-deposits-an-updated-list/p1
  • You can just move credit card DD over. I've got 8 credit cards plus utilities and such so not short of things to move around at all.

You wont qualify for the incentive for any previous switch, but you will if you perform a new switch

I'm reading the terms as implying you can get the bonus for switching into a new sole account and also again for switching into a new joint account.

"This offer is only valid on the first sole current account and first joint current account you have switched to us since 18 August 2021 which has not previously benefitted from this or any previous current account online switch offer. "

Is this right or am I misinterepting?   If I'm right would the account being switched into a new joint account also have to be a joint account?
