Nationwide Switch Offer £200 September 2023

I've got 2 DD with Halifax, but I really don't want to switch from Halifax as it's been my main account for many years. However, I've got a lot of burner accounts, such as NatWest, RBS, Virgin Money. If I move my DD from Halifax to one of these current accounts, how can I do it and how long does that roughly take?
Or am I better off setting up some fake DDs?0 -
You need to give the company the details of your new bank account that you want to make the payment from. You can often do it via their webdite.worriednoob said:I've got 2 DD with Halifax, but I really don't want to switch from Halifax as it's been my main account for many years. Does anyone know if Nationwide’s systems are smart enough to pick up if you’ve switched before? I’ve benefited from multiple NatWest incentives even though I’d switched before and therefore didn’t fit the T&Cs. So wondering if it’s worth trying my luck with Nationwide again.0

Nationwide has launched today a new switch offer with a £200 incentive.

All rather straight forward and easy to achieve but a watch out is point 7 in their T&C's
7. You must transfer a minimum of 2 active Direct Debits from the current account being switched to the Nationwide account as part of the switch. Direct Debits set up or transferred after your switch has been started will not count towards this offer. Other types of automated payments, such as standing orders and recurring card payments, won’t count towards this.
Once the account is open you have access to a new 8% regular saver @Kazza242 has mentioned here:

I opened my account yesterday but unable to register for online banking/log in via app or website. They are citing a technical problem so unable to open the regular saver.0

I'm happy to give them the new DD details, but my concern is that they take a month or so to change to new bank and by then Nationwide change or stop the switch scheme. From your own experience, how long roughly does a company take to change the DD?Stargunner said:

In my experience, at least one billing cycle, often two, if DDs are monthly.worriednoob said:
