Really? I interpret clause 10b of the exclusions to qualifying as not being able to…. Am I misunderstanding ?
Section 5 makes it fairly clear that you can switch into an existing qualifying account. I believe section 10b refers to a situation where you initiated a switch into an existing account before the offer went live. In that case you wouldn't qualify for the incentive when the switch completes.

Basically, if you haven't taken advantage of the switch incentive before then you should qualify for the incentive if you meet all the other requirements (DDs, etc).

I'm reading the terms as implying you can get the bonus for switching into a new sole account and also again for switching into a new joint account.

"This offer is only valid on the first sole current account and first joint current account you have switched to us since 18 August 2021 which has not previously benefitted from this or any previous current account online switch offer. "

Is this right or am I misinterepting?   If I'm right would the account being switched into a new joint account also have to be a joint account?
That is how it has worked in the past - you could double dip on the offer with a sole account and a joint account.

I haven't done a joint switch myself, but my understanding is that you can switch a sole account into a joint account as long as the sole account matches one of the joint account holders, or you can switch a joint account into another joint account (both names need to match). What you definitely can't do is switch a joint account into a sole account.
  • if I set up new DD to meet the criteria, do they just need to be set up or does a payment actually has to be gone through the account I'd like to switch?

It rather depends how it appears on the account that you are switching. Some banks don't show a DD until it has been activated....

Planning on switching one of my dormant Lloyds accounts I have since March. Only occasionally bounced a few quid through it. Moved Barclays, MBNA and Sainsbury credit card DD now to Lloyds. MBNA and Barclays CC are at 0 so no collection of any funds, guess they just activate from any future statements and Sainsbury said it will take a few days to be active. Was hoping to open the current account asap and the reg saver to fit in a September payment and October payment straight after. #

The T&C's say that the switch needs to be completed within 60 days of requesting it. Could I open the current account today to access the regular saver but put the switch date 30 days from now to allow enough time for the DD mandates changed today to take full effect?

Where would be good to open a new current account to then take advantage of this offer? I don’t want to switch any of Santander 123 lite (still best for DD cash back) Chase (best for debit card cash back) or HSBC (separate account I keep for “business” activities).

Want a NW current account for the offer and as I missed out on the loyalty bonus because I only have a mortgage with them.
  • How about opening an Everyday Current Account with Santander? Should be quick'n'easy since you already bank with them.

Don't forget you need 2 active DDs on the account before switching to NatWide.
  • Does anyone know how to switch into an existing account on the app please ? I’m going round in circles !

Monzo, Metro Bank. All without hard search and with Monzo you get account details instantly so you can set up DD straight away.
