Morning all, it's another windy day and very grey but no rain as yet but no doubt it'll be here later!  Not much planned for today other than some shopping.

I only saw one tiny edge of a burger in the first photo but the 2nd one definitely shows 2 small bits of burger!

I've semi dried some of the tomatoes and have them in a small screw top jar in the fridge.  Not sure how long they'll last as they're supposed to be covered in oil for them to keep for months!  Well that's not happening here!  There's only a few in there and DH and I have "sampled" a couple already and they are really sweet.  Don't think I'll bother synning them as commercial ones are only 1-2 syns per 25g and I doubt there's much more than that in the jar - there was about 100-150g prior to drying so it shows how much "water" there is in them.

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
    L - toasted cheese sandwich, tomatoes, pickles - HEB; HEA2; S
    D - Thai fish curry, rice - P; S; F; 1.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - Light coconut milk 1.5

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning,

Feels very autumnal here this morning, chilly and windy with lots of leaves on the lawn. I'm WFH but will be popping out at lunchtime to post another Bay of E parcel. I bought some Whittards mugs at the car boot on Sunday - 4 for £2 and have sold them with a whopping £35 profit for charity - very pleased.

Have had a rejection email from a job I applied for before my walk - exact same job as I do now but for a charity. No feedback offered. 4 more applications put in last week. I suppose it's good that I heard back rather than a big fat silence. Not panicking.....yet.....

    Food today will be:
    B - poached egg, spinach, mushrooms, 1 x WM toast, banana - P, S, 1/2 HEB, Free
    L - drain cleaner soup, 4 x Ryvita, apple - S, 4, S
D - crispy bacon, squash and chilli pasta - new recipe for this months' mag - Free
    HEA - milk
1/2 HEB - hi fi bar
    Syns - 4

DDad doing okay thanks @maman - he had a procedure a few week's back and they put a stent into his kidney. That is being removed at the end of this week. He seems well, which is a relief.

    Morning all,

I think I have everyone's rain here!  Non-stop and heavy from about 3am this morning 😒

The right job will come along @Coxy11 and good to hear your dad is doing well x
That's my kind of burger @bubbs smothered in onions mmmmm

Going into the office shortly for the rest of the day. Who would have thought getting out and speaking to people would still be a novelty (well, for me) 🤣

    Today's food:
B - f/f Greek yoghurt, strawberries, 1 tbsp Skinny syrup (0.5 syn) (mum gave me her unopened bottle)
L - probably soup and w/meal roll (HEB) from staff canteen
D - meatballs with spaghetti and a side of roasted tomatoes, parmesan (HEA)

    Have a good day everyone!

  • Morning all.

Good to hear your dad is doing well @Coxy11 and fingers crossed for the other job applications.  As you said, good to hear a result even if there wasn't any real feedback.

We're off to the US for MiL's wedding (she doesn't know we're going...🤫) and have decided to do a bit of west coast exploring while we're there.  We used our airmiles to get us to New York and back though so we're stopping off in the big apple for a few days before we head home.  Feeling very anxious about the first part of the trip, mainly because we don't know how the rest of DH's family are going to react when they find out we went 😟 but we've agreed that it's up to MiL if she wants to tell people we were there.

Going to try and get most of the packing done today.  Had bran flakes for breakfast with a couple of plums, lunch is mushroom soup and dinner is veggie goulash from the freezer with some rice.

Hope everyone has a good day - it's very grey and windy here!

Change of plan for lunch!  I'd forgotten I'd made the carrot and lentil soup yesterday so we had some of that, 4 more portions have gone into the freezer.  Bought some oxtail today when we went to the butchers and have currently got a stew in the pressure cooker with one big piece of it and a casserole in the other with the other big piece.  Used to be a cheap meal but not any more!  The 2 big pieces came in at over £18!  Hoping to get at least 6-8 portions from the 2.

Good to hear your dad is doing well @Coxy11.  Must be such a relief for you and your family.  That's a great profit for your charity with the Whittards mugs.

Enjoy your holiday and MILs wedding @ruby_eskimo.

Grey and windy here too today. We've got football again tonight and form is awful so it'll probably be just as drab as the weather. ☹️

Have a great time in the US @ruby_eskimo. It's well worth travelling around as you're there anyway for the wedding.

I hope you enjoy the oxtail @joedenise. I can't say I'm a fan. You're getting very inventive with the endless supply of tomatoes! 🤣

Good profit for the charity @Coxy11. 👍 My DGDs use Vinted, they say it's better value for sellers than the other site. 🤔

Snap to dinner tonight @Jellybaby. 😋

We had thought of going away for a couple of nights this week but weather looks so miserable we won't bother. It'll be good for SW and also mse as I'll stretch the menu until I do my shop on Friday. 👍

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA 1 milk for drinks
    L- cold meat (P), 1 potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
    D- meatballs in tomato sauce (P, S), spaghetti (F), HEA 2 Parmesan
    Syns - half Crunchie 3

Still got endless tomatoes even with keep giving loads away!  Haven't got masses of freezer space so need to keep what little I have for the oxtail stew/casserole and then see how much is left.  Have to say @maman I'm not that keen on oxtail but DH loves it so I'll cook it now and again!  Whatever ends up in the freezer will be spread over the next 3 months probably!
