That's brilliant @bubbs. The dogs are perfect house guests obviously well trained. 👍

Your story reminded me of a woman when I first started SW. She used to take the skin off the chicken and the only way she could stop herself from eating it was to put it straight in the dog's bowl! 🤣

  • Morning all.

Back from a lovely wholesome weekend with my bestie talking all things impending baby related 😍.  We did LOTS of walking where I even struggled to keep up with her at times 😆  They're going to be amazing parents when the time comes, even if her due date keeps changing every time she has an appointment!

Anywho, managed a STS this week which is good as we're off to America on Sunday for almost 3 weeks.  Haven't packed, only realised this morning that I have almost run out of all my toiletries so a big next day delivery order has gone in 😆  Have had some weetabix for breakfast and lunch is some carrot soup from the freezer with whatever salad bits I can find in the fridge - need to go and do a little shop tonight to get us through the week.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning all,

It's very cold, wet and grey here this morning.  WFH and watching the rain beat against the windows!

More batch cooking yesterday and the freezer is now rammed with soups, pasta sauces and diced up veg.
Had a few too many G & Ts so went over syns but hopefully claw back as the week goes on.

Meeting an ex-work colleague for lunch and the cafe we're going to does fab baked potatoes!

    Today's food:
    B - f/f Greek yoghurt, raspberries, strawberries
L - baked potato with cheese (HEA) and salad
D - lentil soup with bread (HEB)

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, still not had much rain even though storms were forecast overnight.  We had a short shower about 11.30pm and then a very heavy one about 12.30 which went on a while and kept me awake with beating against the window but DH slept blissfully through it!  But no thunder or lightening.

Went to pick up a blood test form from the dr's this morning as need one done prior to a telephone appointment with the cardiologist next month (not a heart problem as such just high cholesterol, which I really don't understand with the food I eat!). I would have thought the SW plan was good for cholesterol levels but will see what the cardiologist has to say next month.

    Today's plan:

    B - weetabix, milk, strawberries - HEB; part HEA2, S
    L - cheese omelette - rest HEA2; P
D - pasta bolognaise - P; S; F (made in SC yesterday using nearly a kg of fresh tomatoes! and the fridge is still rammed with them).

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - milk/cheese
    HEB - Weetabix
Syns - none planned but will probably have a Skinny Whip later 4 syns

    Have a good day everyone.

Wow! 3 weeks in the US @ruby_eskimo! Is that a holiday? 🤔

I think there are other causes of high cholesterol than diet @joedenise. In some cases it can be inherited I believe but I'm not an expert so it will be interesting to know what the cardiologist says. You're certainly doing the right thing to eat healthily for all sorts of reasons. 👍

It rained heavily earlier here @Jellybaby but now it's cleared up. Forecast is very unreliable. ☹️

Well done on the batch cooking. I need to do some soon. I can always tell as the plastic boxes I use start to mount up in the cupboard as they're not in the freezer IYSWIM. 😁

It's always good to know a cafe that does JPs. I did indulge myself last week with tuna mayo and coleslaw but certainly more SW friendly than sandwiches or baked goods.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- fried veg and pickles (S), egg (P), potato (F)
D- baked cod (P), SW chips (F), cauliflower steak, green stuff, tomatoes (S)
    Syns - 0

We finally got the really heavy rain about 11 this morning and it's only just stopped but it is still really windy.  It's still really grey so wouldn't be surprised if we get more rain later.

Sorry @ruby_eskimo - forgot to say well done on your STS.  That's really good when you've been away for a visit anywhere but even better when you don't have any control over the food.  Sounds like you're looking forward to 3 weeks in America.  Where about are you going?  After all it's a very large country!

I take it your DH is out at lunchtime @maman!  I notice you've got egg!  We really enjoyed our cheesy omelettes today.  I've not planned very well as it's omelettes on the menu for breakfast in the morning!  Think I might have to have a rethink about that!

    Hi all,

I’m in the office today. Had a disturbed nights’ sleep as there was a terrific thunder and lightning storm, but the air feels much fresher today. Dinner is courtesy of DD who is cooking sticky chicken. I will double check that she swops out the olive oil for fry light.

Breakfast was overnight oats and lunch was LO chilli con carne and a banana. Made the chilli yesterday and managed to sprinkle over 2 tsps of CINAMMON instead of cumin as I wasn't wearing my glasses. It's actually not that bad  :D I also have an apple for this afternoon’s snack and a hi fi for the train home.

    Well done on the 3lb loss @Jellybaby – that’s fantastic x

Glad to hear you had a good time with your friend @ruby_eskimo – well done on STS x

Hope DGD1 had a lovely birthday yesterday @maman and that you enjoyed the cake x

I too have a plastic box mountain in the cupboard so really must try to batch cook to replenish some stocks!

DH away overnight on Thursday, so DD and I are already planning ‘Girl Dinner’ of gammon, egg, chips and beans lol

You're right @joedenise. DH is out doing a walk with cruise passengers although we rarely have the same lunch. He tends to go for a picky plate but I like a proper meal.

Glad that the cinnamon didn't ruin your chilli @Coxy11. 😁 How's your dad by the way? 🤔
