The soup maker is truly knackered. I like it for the same reasons as @beanielou, @ruby_eskimo and @Jellybaby. I had a voucher today for £5 off Amazon due to some anniversary of theirs. Consequently I have now treated myself to a ninja soup maker. The king of soup makers I believe. Will report back. It chops sautees and self cleans. I just wish it would do the housework as well. 🤣
Took myself to aquarobics this morning. Breakfast was mushrooms on toast, lunch soup of course, and a ham salad sandwich. Dinner will be seafood risotto. I had some bananas that were overripe so I’ve made banana muffins. They are delicious but definitely not slimming world but hey I guess it’s the weekend. The G and tea jelly sounds very interesting @joedenise. Safe travels and enjoy time with your friend @ruby_eskimo. Good luck on the scales @Jellybaby0 -
@shirleytch - when I said to DH that I was making jelly he actually asked if I was going to make a G&T one! Think he was disappointed when I said I was making strawberry!
There is a banana bread recipe on the SW website so you could have tried that. Quite high in syns at 5 syns a slice but might be worth considering if you're in the same situation at a later date. You can work out the syns the loaf you've made by adding up all the syns of what you have included and dividing it by the number of slices you get. Are you going to be sharing it? If not I'd suggest freezing slices individually so you don't eat it all at once!0 -

Hi all,I've had a really good week on plan (bar one chip shop tea) I had a cheeky peek on the scales this morning and looking like I've lost 3lbs this week, but got until Sunday to go.As well as being on plan, I went for a run earlier in the week with some local ladies, we ran 3 miles in 38ish minutes so was super impressed with myself with that. We then went out last night and had another hour of activity at the park.
Got a busy weekend, 2 children move to uni, hoping for a significant reduction in my food bill for the week ahead, but might take some getting used to shopping and cooking for 3 rather than 5!
Random one, don't suppose anyone has a recipe for black bean and sweetcorn salsa? Went to one of the Lounge restaurants this week and this was in the Mexican super bowl - it was delicious so going to try and recreate this next week!Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

@joedenise - I dread to imagine how many syncs in the one I made. I tend to go a bit wayward at weekends but have excelled myself here 🙈. I actually made muffins but will try and freeze some - good shout. Night everyone0

Morning all, @annabanana82 well done on your good week so far. As for the salsa recipe have you tried googling for one? I just did and quite a few came up including one on the the BBC website. Have a look and see which seems to be most similar to what you had.
Will be back later with my meal plan as need to go and have my shower and wash my hair before DH starts cooking breakfast.0 -
@joedenise I did try Google, they all seem quite dry, whereas the one I had was warm and had a light sauce. Might have to just wing it this week and then tweakMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Sorry I've been MIA for a couple of days. I have scan read the posts but not had time to respond. 😊
Thanks all for the good wishes for DH's birthday. We had a super day out and life generally seems very social and hectic at the moment. Food has been relatively SW friendly but too many celebratory drinks so well over on syns. 😉
Fortunately I've got a few days to get back on plan but we are away later in the week for a short break.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S), banana (F)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onion and pickles (S)
D- Sweet and Sour chicken (P,S), noodles (F)
Syns- Ben's sauce 1.5, weekend wine 😁0 -
Hi all,
Well done on your good week @annabanana82 - can sympathise with cooking for a houseful when there’s only 3 of you!Lovely food as usual @bubbs
A STS for me today - probably deserved due to Birthday cake and Prosecco! We had major laptop issues and had a queue of 40 people before we opened. Hideous.Had another freebie this week using a BAFGAWF override but that’s the last one. Need to lose that pesky 0.5lb this week and keep it off!Have a good day everyone.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0
