Sorry to hear about your fall @beanielou. Hope you feel better soon. Not sure that chocolate is the best medicine? 🤔🤣

I'm not sure about Nectar offers. I know weekly offers (like 25% off wine 😁) usually start on Tuesdays but probably different for Nectar. @bubbs will know.

Could you have something planned for when you get home from work @Longwalker? If  I miss lunch usually grab some cold meat and a few tomatoes from the fridge or cold potatoes or beetroot to keep me going until dinner. Yesterday, I had some soup ready to heat up.

I like vinegar on kippers too. 😋

Longwalker Miss slinky is not necessarily ther person that has lost most, as that is definite  not me! It is also for people who inspire others, share there recipes, post pictures (me)🤣 etc.

Beanie hope you are ok after your fall, DH nearly went over earlier, tripping over a wire, HTF i don't know as right beside his side of sofa and it's his laptop wire, thank god it wasn't mine!

If something is on Nectar price, go to sains website, find the said item and it tells you

Sorry meant to say well done on your losses @bubbs and @Jellybaby.

It seems we are having Miss Slinky and Mr Sleek this week, but no taster!  Consultant has posted on our Facebook page to say don't forget we'll be voting this week.  She must have said something the week before last when I wasn't there as I knew nothing about it and I have no idea who's been nominated!  Never mind I'm not even sure whether I'm going yet - I don't usually make a decision until either Tuesday or even Wednesday morning!

Our consultant mentioned Miss Slinky and Mr. Sleek and passed voting papers round.

    Today's plan
B scrambled eggs with spinach, 1 BGTY sausage (1 syn), 1 wholemeal muffin (HEB), and tomato
Noy lunch as still full from breakfast
D leftover pork made into a ragu using canned tomatoes, 5 peppers (to use up), rest of the watercress and onions and garlic.  Added some pasta to it, was delicious as I also put some chilli and oregano in it.  Enough for us to have it tomorrow night as well.
pudding was apple crumble.  I made it yesterday a big one for DH and 4 small ones in ramekins for me.  I measured and weighed my topping - porridge oats, marg and sugar (only a small amount of the latter two).  I have syned them and they came out at 6 syns each.  Lovely with a dollop of ff yoghurt and I don't feel I'm missing out.

Now I know the programme a bit better, I will start experimenting a bit more with puddings

@MrsPorridge - there are lots of puddings on the SW website.  Try typing in Desserts in the Search Bar and several will come up.

It's also worth looking on websites like SlimmingEats and Pinch of Nom for recipes although you'll need to work out the syns yourself by using the SW website.

  • Beanielou I hope you get over the shock of the fall, and the bruising.
I know when I fell while running,  it was the fear that took a while to get over.  Still looking down too much when I run but gradually looking less like an old woman running for a bus as I improve my posture (well, that's how it feels til someone videos me!)

Thanks to your encouragement here I have kept on track since my excesses on Friday. Saying that,  I still ate a helluva lot less than I usually would when there is free food!
Yesterday and today have been good. Was worried about grazing this evening even though I'm not hungry so had a bowl of frozen berries with a crumbled meringue nest and some Greek yoghurt.
Have taken myself up to bed with a cuppa and a hot water bottle as I refuse to put the heat on and then realised it isn't even 8pm!
    Will stop me grazing though.

    Morning everyone,

I've not been on for a couple of days - just needed to hunker down and practise some self-care as things are getting on top of me. I had my contract through on Friday lunchtime. They've put me on a starting salary at the bottom of the scale/entry level which equates to a £5k drop. I know it's not all about the money, but I really cannot take that much of a cut, despite it being a local job and therefore £40 less per month travel. I went back with a query about negotiating, so will see what gives today.

I went for a long walk on Friday afternoon, firstly to Waitrose to get some dried mushrooms, then on to the salon where I'd a manicure booked. Worked out it's been 9 years since my last one. I really don't have the time or money for them but they do look nice and I'm thinking I might go more regularly and s*d the expense.

DDad is home - will await further info as to next steps in treatment. What I can say is he has become a moany old man these past few weeks. Understandable but even so.

Food has miraculously been 100% on plan since Saturday morning (we will gloss over the consumption of an entire 200g Cadbury bar on Friday). I am writing a food diary on paper, and filling up on lots of Speed. I can't control many things in life right now, but this is the one thing I can do. Really want to be lower end of target before the Christmas merriment commences.

Sorry to hear about your fall @beanielou - hope you're okay lovely x
DH bruising sounds awful @joedenise - I hope it improves soon x
So happy to hear of wedding enjoyment @Longwalker - glad it went off okay and only a titchy gain for you xx
Well done on the losses @Jellybaby and @bubbs and for the Miss Slinky nomination x

Our group is doing a tasting session/Miss Slinky/Mr Sleek on 11 November. I won't be staying that day as the WI have an offshoot sewing group I'd like to try out.

    Food today:
B - Scrambled egg, smoked salmon, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes - P, Free, S
L - LO casserole veg from last night - potatoes, BNS, onions, carrots, mushrooms - Free, S
D - out at a gig - Soul II Soul (remember them?) so will be something en route - syns a-plenty I expect!
