Thanks for that @bubbs.  Well done on being nominated for Miss Slinky!  My group must be the only one not doing that this week!  Either that of the consultant forgot to mention it!!!

DH is on anti platelets which are basically thinners so was expecting some bruising but it's far worse than either of us thought it would be.

Love a gammon joint @longwalker.  It's also really economical especially now that we have a decent slicing machine!  DH hand carves it when we have it for dinner hot and then once cooled down he slices it thinly ready for portioning - some is used for sandwiches and some for another evening meal.  Usually manage to get at least 3 dinners and 2 lots of sandwiches from a fairly small joint.

Have looked in the freezers and can definitely only get one joint in there even with what I'm planning on taking out in the next few days!  So going to leave shopping at Sainsbury until towards the end of the week.

It's been pouring down here all morning. I had hoped to get some washing out @joedenise but no chance so instead I put my house plants outside to give them a wash and a drink! 🤣 I decided to put the heating on so the washing will dry indoors quickly and more benefit to me than the tumble drier. Fortunately it's not a great deal, towels are the thickest things.

Well done on your losses @bubbs and @Jellybaby.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I can see why you've been nominated @bubbs, you must look great if you're right at the bottom of target range. 👍🏼

I loved reading about your trip to Italy @Longwalker. So thrilled for you that you got to wear the dress. Congratulations on just gaining a pound after indulging yourself.

Hope you're both still back on track @NornIronRose and @MrsPorridge. We all have those sort of s*d it days from time to time. The only answer is to get back on plan PDQ. It does help if  you can cut back on syns until next WI but drawing that line and moving on is the most important thing.

I'm going to have a look at that meat in Sainsbury's too. Fortunately we have a large branch very local so I can pop in and check what's in stock. I find some pork joints can be much more fatty than others. Today's pork joint is a small one I bought in Asda on offer a few weeks back.

I didn't get to post yesterday as was busy first with football and then out dancing in the evening. The positive was that, as I was driving, I had no wine syns. I had my usual half Crunchie at the game and then a very few at the buffet in the evening. People are getting better at bringing healthy stuff. There was plenty of fruit, some lovely couscous stuffed tomatoes, devilled eggs, and the old favourite cheese and pineapple! I know there were some syns in what I had but tiny compared with my usual Saturday night.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk, eggs (P), baked beans (F)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese and spring onions (P,S), pickles (S)
D- JO roast pork (P,S), roast potatoes (F), many veg (S)
Syns- HM gravy 4, weekend wine
  • Hi all,

Lost access to the Internet at home for several days so not been able to get online too well as mobile data is rubbish at home.

I haven't caught up on the last 5 or so days of updates, will try and do so this afternoon.

I'm away for a few days from tomorrow so will try and keep up when WiFi is available.

Might not be on plan the next few days but number of steps usually counteracts this
    Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

    Make £2024 in 2024...

  • So whats Miss Slinky?

We have something or other, a tasting and slimmer of the year or something or other, got to nominate someone who keeps you going to group or something like that?  Anyone know what I mean and can remind me what it is? Lol, I was texting a friend when she was saying - oops

Yes I love a bit of gammon. Tis only a cheap formed one from Lidl, 1kg , £6, but over here in NI they are really really good. I sorted through to lift one with no visible fat running through, a third tonight hot, a third tomorrow with bubble and salad and the rest will be used up in mum and Mrs L's sandwiches . I too have a slicer, but Ive mastered the sharp knife carve  - a good very sharp knife and steady hand and I can cut wafer thin. Slicer comes out at Christmas when I have  a large ham and rolled turkey to slice up

@beanielou , hope you arent too sore today

Found some Nevilles wholemeal in the freezer so whilst mum and Mr L had hot sausage rolls, I had two slices , a kipper and lots of tomatoes, rocket and cucumber. I like vinegar on a kipper so that dressed the salad nicely as well

found a bag of frozen cherries in the freezer whilst hunting, so got some of those out defrosting ready for my brekkie/lunch tomorrow and some chicken drumsticks for Mr L's lunches

Determined to do as well as I can this week. Shifts in work are a tad awkward, Im covering at the farm Monday and Tuesday - 12 -5 and my own work 12-4 Wednesday and Thursday but its the 10 till 2s Friday and Saturday that are the killers. Im just not hungry enough to eat before hand, so come out absolutely starved and I either go sod it and shovel whatever is close to hand down my throat, or hold on to dinner which means I dont get enough food in me
