Well done Maddiemay. That's great that you lost a bit and are feeling a bit better.
And an amazing story of surviving an AAA. Especially with taling so long to actually get into hospital for intervention!1 -
I just messaged my SW consultant. I need to go out for a run today and the energy chews that I use will use up some of my syns.
I asked that if I do this type of exercise do I get to carry some syns over or get extra. She told me in no uncertain terms that it is 5-15 per day and no extra allowance for exercise and absolutely can not be carried over til next day.
IIRC she said when I joined that I could have up to 15 syns a day or save up extra for the weekend.
Thoughts please.1 -
Rose. I think most of us use our syns over a week. It’s not the official SW way but is real life.It has to fit our lifestyle.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Thanks beanielou. Makes sense. I'm going out for dinner tomorrow night so am having a 3 syn day today and will be syn free til I get to dinner tomorrow.
It's good in that they put all the food in the middle of the table and we help ourselves. The dessert table will be the big temptation though. The lady makes about 20 different types of wee mini desserts which are all amazing. Last year I think I tried most of them! They are tiny though. But there is also a great display of fruit so I will load up on salad and fruit.1 -

Good news about DH @joedenise and a very good alert for the scans. Your experience with your brother really hits it home @maddiemay.
Your step mum really is something else @Coxy11. She seems to be always there for her cats but humans are too much trouble. 🤔
I've always saved syns for the weekend @NornironRose. Personally, I find it fairly easy to eat low syn all week but it only works if you don't feel deprived of treats during the week.
It's not strictly true that you can have as many potatoes as you like. SW is based on a third each of lean protein, carbs and Speed (plus HEXs and syns) so if you want extra potatoes, you should have extra Speed and protein too. So, by all means snack on baby potatoes but push up the Speed, either in your meals or as Speed fruit. I often have no Speed with breakfast but then more like 50% with other meals.
Another strange day here. Forecast said high chance of rain but it hasn't materialised. We got out for a walk this morning. 10 000+ steps done. 👍 It's a shame that exercise doesn't count against syns but it does help to keep you supple and toned and good for MH.

Denise i am glad DH is ok and doing well.

Coxyhope your Dad is doing a bit better, enjoy the pictures 😘
Maddie , unfortunately yes she does have it, i am totally devastated , she is the most caring, thoughtful person i have ever had the pleasure to call my friend and this is such a cruel disease 😥😥 I just burst into tears when she told me in the hospital.
DH had his laser surgery today he said straight away his eye is better ,but when he went in to have the drops done, she said don't you wear glasses anymore ? He goes no, she said no? he goes oh yes i do for distance 😂 comes back out for his glasses, i said why did you say no? He goes i just forgot 😂
We had a fry up for brunch, syn free , chicken and mushroom curry 2 syns, egg fried cauli rice, few chips. Pudding banging!! 3 syns and half hexb
