Call me Rosie. I was on MSE for years as Rosie 383 but changed when I got separated as I didn't want ex to stalk me!
Well, first weigh in done. 7.5 lbs!!! Got a 1/2 stone certificate and a round of applause. Happy but a bit embarrassed.
I went into it this evening with a different mindset thanks to you lovely people. Just looked at the team in a different way and they didn't annoy me as much. I saw them for what they were. Other people on a journey rather than those who I felt were patronising. Definitely more positive.
Got the airfryer, slow cooker and microwave recipe book as promised for signing up for the 12 weeks. So many recipes that I can't wait to try.1 -
That's amazing @NornironRose! Delighted for you. More than half a stone in a week! 👏👏👏2

Just a quick one to say that DH's op went well and he's having hourly jobs until 7.30am tomorrow so don't think he's going to be getting much sleep as they have to take his pulse in his feet and they're quite hard to find and when they do find it it's quite noisy as they use a sort of scan type thing to do it!
He didn't actually get back from surgery until 5pm which was nearly the time when I needed to leave. I'd literally just pulled up outside DD1s house when the consultant phoned me to let me know. By the time we got to the hospital and stayed for visiting we didn't get back to her house until nearly 9 and when I got home around 9.20pm I was desperate for a cup of tea!

At least he has had it done. Hope you get him home without any issues and he can recover there.
It almost feels like a huge achievement when someone's surgery goes ahead these days. Everything is so uncertain.1 -
Glad all went well Denise.

Morning all,
Fantastic result @NornIronRose xxx Your first shiny for your book and a new recipe book to try! I don't own an air fryer....yet... Not sure whether to take the plunge. Which one do you have please?
Great to hear DH's op went well @joedenise - wishing him a good recovery and hope he can come home today x
DDad may be home by the weekend, with full time oxygen. Waiting to hear.
Sorry to hear about your friend @bubbs xxx
I limited myself to 2 choc hobnobs last night - better than the night before anyway! I'm WFH today as boss has gone to visit an ailing relative in Hull. No point me being in the office if she isn't. DD has gone to start a temp job near the O2. It's just until Christmas but at least it's something. She had an interview for a perm job yesterday but her laptop wouldn't play ball so she ended up doing it from her phone - she was very stressed afterwards!
Food today:
B - Weetabix choc melts, mullerlight vanilla, blueberries, plums - HEB, 0.5, S
L - JP, tuna, mayo, feta, figs, tomatoes, pickles - free, P, 1, HEA, S
D - chilli beef stir fry with noodles (from Fast Feasts book) - free
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar 3 plus 1.5 so 4.5 total

Morning all, pleased to say that I've spoken to DH this morning and he's up and about - having had to lie flat on his back for the first 4 hours after the op! Have you ever tried feeding someone lying down! It's not easy especially as there were quite a lot of peas - still I managed to do it. Suppose it saved a nurse from having to feed him with me arriving just after his dinner was delivered.
Still not decided whether or not to go to group as DH definitely won't be able to come home before this afternoon as he's still on 2 hourly obs until 1.30pm to check that his pulse is still strong in his feet.
Haven't eaten a proper dinner while he's been in as it's so late by the time I get home I just wouldn't be able to eat it so hoping DH is home in time for dinner at a reasonable time today otherwise it'll be just fruit and yoghurt again!
Hope your dad does come home from hospital at the weekend @Coxy11. Is he still in the hospital which is too far for stepmum to drive to? He'll be much better off at home than in a hospital a long way away.
Well done @NornIronRose - brilliant first week loss and your first shiney for your book!
So today's plan:
B - mushroom omelette - P; S
L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles - HEA2; HEB; S
D - soya bean curry, rice - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but may well have a drink tonight!!!
Have a good day everyone.2 -
Glad you're OH is up and about and hopefully home soon @joedenise
Hope your Dad gets home @Coxy11
Well done on your first weigh-in @NornIronRose great loss! Great loss to your DH too @bubbs I'm using 'cut the crap' as my new mantra 😁
I ended up going out for a walk in the rain and dark last night, I just needed fresh air. Felt better for it and will try and do the same today - though will aim for an earlier and lighter start!
Today's food:
B - baked oats (HEB), yoghurt (0.5), raspberries and blueberries
L - veggie omelette, pickles
D - homemade meatballs in tomato sauce, spaghetti, Parmesan (HEXA)
Have a good day everyone!

Afternoon all, decided to go to group in the end. It helped take my mind off things for a while. Was really pleased with 1.5lb loss - think it had caught up from last week when I'd expected a loss and only got STS. I'm now bang on target weight. Hopefully I can lose another 3lb before Christmas to give me a bit more leeway!
I've spoken to DH again and he's now waiting for blood test results before he can come home. He's seen the consultant this morning who is really pleased with how the op went. He'll need to have scans about every 3 months for the 1st year just to make sure everything remains where it's supposed to! Looks like I'm going to have to drive him everywhere for the next couple of weeks as he won't be allowed to drive. Haven't got any plans other than things like shopping anyway so all good there.
Currently cooking a batch of basmati and wild rice to freeze in portions to be microwaved when needed. This is much like brown rice in the cooking times as takes 18-20 minutes so doesn't get used often but thought it would be good to do a batch and we can have some with the curry tonight.
@maman - you're the expert on reheating rice! How long to microwave for to reheat properly? Do you reheat in the bag or tip into a dish? Any tips would be welcome!
