She's on holiday with friends and I think they wanted to go there for some reason.   No idea why!  Is there anything there?

I went to Glasgow earlier this year to see my sister but other than that it's over 50 years since I was last in Scotland and didn't see much of it then as my then Brother in Law wanted to see all round the coast so we went up the west coast and back down the east coast in 2 weeks!!!!  And we were camping in a ridge tent so most nights only stayed one night so it was putting up the tent, having something to eat, go to bed, get up, take the tent down, pack the car and drive to the next place and do the same again!  Not an enjoyable experience and not one I've ever wanted to do again!

That would be my idea of hell @Joedenise , the closest I get to camping is a caravan with all mod cons

Love Edinburgh, a beautiful city and so friendly. We went last November and had the most perfect weather. I had taken my heavy coat thinking it would be cold and near melted. Still it kept me out of the shops and out sightseeing instead :)

If I can get enough club card awards Id like to go take the car over again and go do the highlands. Its mad, we can fly £50 return, the ferry which is two hours with the car costs over £300. Like the ferry HAVE to go back and forth - they are cargo carriers, passengers are a bonus. Lorries fill the car decks, cars are parked up top outside yet we pay a fortune for the privilege. We have friends in Ayr so we usually go as foot passengers and get the bus straight to their door. and Ayr has good transport onwards to Glasgow and Edinburgh. But for the highlands a car is required

Fell of the wagon big time last night, Kit Kat and a viscount inhaled. I was tired, I should have gone to bed but Ive been in a bit of a bad mood all weekend and that was the outcome

Still its Monday , new week, new start.

I am seriously going to try and not have a drink today and hopefully the rest of the week till the weekend. Son and Bride to be arrive Thursday, her parents and bother arrive Friday. We are out to dinner Friday and Saturday Im sending them off ( they are touring ) with an Ulster fry, so a lot of food and Im not going to be going I cant have.  Ill also have to pop into a different group for weigh in as Ill be too busy Saturday morning, and Wednesdays is too close to this weigh in. If I dont go I know its going to be a F it situation and Ive come this far, I promised Ill go till the Wedding and Ive paid till then , but as I said, the kind of antsy mood Im in , its a dangerous time

Morning all,  Hooray!  I've got my car back!  Have just got back from taking the hire car back to the hire place.  Didn't even use it.  DH just drove it home and back again but of course that meant I had to go as well to bring him back!  Still at least my car got filled up!

Good luck with not drinking today @Longwalker and for the rest of the week.  I know how difficult it can be which is one of the reasons I don't tend to buy wine these days as I find it far too easy to drink a whole bottle!  Now I only drink a glass when I go out for a meal so nowhere near as often.  During the week I tend to stick to 0% G&T which does the trick - suppose it fools the brain into thinking you're drinking.

Don't think I'd want to be camping in a tent these days either!  Quite happy with our old motorhome, or at least I will be once the new fridge is fitted - hopefully this coming Thursday 🤞!  If it gets done then we'll go away for the weekend to make sure it works OK!

    Today's plan:

    B - kedgeree - P; S; F
    L - leek and potato soup - S; F
    D - cold chicken, chips, beans - P; F

will have the usual fruit and yoghurt this evening which will up the Speed a bit for today!

    HEA - milk
HEB - none planned so may have a couple of chewy bars later (think I've still got some that can be used as HEB!)
Syns - none planned but who knows

    Have a good day everyone.

Weather nice and sunny here after a very misty/foggy start.

B - ff yoghurt and berries
L - veggie soup and muffin
    D - meatballs with pasta
HEA milk and cheese with the meatballs
HEB wholemeal muffin with the soup
Syns not sure yet, but probably a HiFi bar or two!
