Pops head in and waves :)

Hiya guys, its been a while since I was last here

Truth be, life got way too busy that online time diminished - not such a bad thing really.

As you know I had a summer of comings and goings, last visitors arrive this Thursday and thats it for the year - fingers crossed  - which has kept me busy, along with working up at the coffee shop during the summer. I was also job hunting and a zillion other things us women juggle, and this thread just got lost

But Ive still been going to SW and keeping mostly to plan

I got a permanent job serving in a restaurant up on the coast. 4hrs a day, 4 days a week and Im loving it. I do the floor which means I walk ruddy miles a day :) Between there, dog walking, walking with my friend, park run etc Im averaging 8 miles a day. My always skinny legs are now two sticks :)

I hit target back in August so changed target and will fingers crossed hit the new one the week I go to Florence -2 weeks away. This last half stone is going really slow but theres nothing more I can cut other then my throat so I just have to suck it up

However scales dont tell the whole story

Im lighter now then on my Wedding day and for the first time ever in my life, lighter then my wee sister lol. Not that I was in competition with her, it came up in convo as I sent her a pic when we were messaging the other day. Shes always maintained , a real gym bunny so its a real boost to the old confidence.

Im back to a healthy BMI

I had to go down yet another size in clothes when I started work first week of September. I had to dress smart and everything I had was hanging but I found a pair of black jeans size 10 rolled up and hidden in the wardrobe never worn. Were a tad snug on the waist but didnt dig in , now they hang on me

Ive avoided my wardrobe for years.  Seriously there was so much stuff in there that the bar was bowing from the weight, the stack of basket drawers were so rammed they couldn't get open and the floor of it was piled up with clothes, just rolled up and shoved in. The clothes I was wearing I kept folded in a laundry bin and wore out of that. So I bit the bullet and tackled it 2 weeks back. 7 hours between that and my chest of drawers. Clothes from size 8 to 18, clothes from 1995 till now. Well a huge sack out for charity and another huge sack out for the charity to rag, I now have a wardrobe that I can see what I have AND EVERYTHING FITS !! All the 18 tops went, all the 14 bottoms went. I have vac packed a pile of 12 bottoms and 16 tops because I know I haven't got this licked yet but right now, today, Im wearing 10s on the bottom and 12 -14 top half. Most of the dresses that I pulled out to try on back in the summer have also gone. I know at the time I was chuffed to have got into them, but sensible head kicked in, Im not in my 30's anymore. Still kept the wedding dress though :) Im not wearing it to the wedding, I got a new outfit in the end, more fitting for an old doll and the big knickers ordered JIC are not required, no back boobs to be seen :)

We went out last night and I wore a skirt and top that I last wore in 2006 ( got to love how fashions come around again ) lol and I felt a million dollars, esp as it was commented on by people I see weekly who haven't said a word about my weight loss . I guess that still wearing clothes that were shapeless and too big hid the changes

Back when I started this I was running around in mens trackies and coats because womens didnt fit. When I climbed the mountain last September I seriously had to buy a mans coat because the ladies large was too small and I struggled to get the zip on that

So far I have lost 22lb, the weight of my dog and I can barely lift him. Rather a frightening thought. I still look and see a big girl when I look in the mirror. Still got a lot of flab about the belly. Looks like a big blob of bread dough. The weight has gone from the top and the bottom and its being stubborn in the middle for sure but its squidgy and fits in, doesn't bulge out over the tops of my jeans, and the skin on the tops of my arms and legs has definitely gone to pot. Im doing some exercise but having dodgy shoulders I cant do as much as id like so targeting those areas isnt easy but Im working on it

Morning all, good to see you back @Longwalker and absolutely brilliant that you reached target a while ago and are now trying to get to a lower target.  That last half stone is always the most difficult!  I really struggle to stay within my target and more often than not I'm at the top end of the range.  How much more do you have to lose to get to your new target?

It's another dry day here and forecast to be warm again.  I saw the pictures on the news last night of some of the floods in Scotland.  Do hope everyone is safe.  Saw there's also still a weather warning for a lot of Scotland.

No washing again today, the bin is actually only about half full for a change!  There'll probably be enough to do when the weather changes later in the week and I'll end up having to dry it indoors!

Needed to pay for our January holiday yesterday as it's now only 3 months away.  DH also told our DD1 that we'd go away with them next September to Tunisia so that's where we'll be going in September instead of France!  Will probably go to France June as usual and if I can get an add on for a bit longer than 30 days for the insurance we'll go a bit longer than usual.

Right back to SW!  Today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
    L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickled onions, HM tomato & chilli jam - HEA2; HEB; S; F
    D - roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, peppers & onions, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - LF sausages 2, may also have a chewy bar of some sort for 3 or 4 syns depending on which one I have!

    Have a good day everyone.

Yes the addition of the roasted red pepper really "makes" the humous.

Its very motivating to hear of people who are at target.

    Todays meal plan

B ham, scrambled eggs and some leftover roast pots warmed up in the pan
    L veggie soup home made
D chicken curry and rice (2.5 syns for the sauce)
Snacks meringue nest (2.5 syns), berries and yoghurt
Possibly a hi fi bar - I got some chocolate orange ones on Friday and I love them.

That's brilliant news @Longwalker. This thread is like a RL group where people come and go. Usually when people don't post it's because they've fallen off the wagon. But not you!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That's great about all the NSVs with the wardrobe. Have a super time at the wedding. I'm sure you'll look and feel a million dollars!

It's another glorious day here @joedenise and I've cleared the washing basket completely including bedding and towels.👍🏼 Sounds like you've got some lovely holidays lined up.😊

I need to make swede & carrot mash for today and for the freezer. Also planning to bake some meatballs while the oven is on for dinner.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, fried egg, bacon (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad bits (S)
D- JO roast pork (P,S), roast potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- Light mayo 2, gravy 4, weekend wine😁

Forgot to say we've also got a motorhome holiday to France booked for mid November - we were supposed to go 5 September to 4 October originally but needed to change the dates due to various hospital appointments.  Still don't know whether we'll be able to go with waiting for DH's op date.  As long as it's within the next couple of weeks we can go as the consultant said not to go within a couple of weeks of the op.  We're both hoping we'll be able to go even though the weather won't be brilliant and probably quite cold but we've got warm clothes, blankets, hot water bottles etc.  It's a lovely time to go as all the Christmas markets will have started and the atmosphere at them is brilliant, although they usually sell a load of tat and we don't tend to buy much if anything!

Think I might get out a swede and carrot mash from the freezer to increase the amount of Speed foods for dinner, will also increase the variety as tend to have the same veg most of the time.  Meant to buy a cabbage this week but forgot so will put it on the list for next weekend instead!  Have got a TGTG bag from Morrisons to collect this afternoon so maybe they'll be veg of some sort in it!

Have decided we're going to go over to DD1s this afternoon for an hour or so before picking up the TGTG bag on the way home as it's the same town and not too far from DD1s.

Absolutely amazing view @bubbs.  That's the sort of weather we've got at the moment as well and here to stay for a few more days yet.  Think it's probably the same for you in Devon.

Picked up the TGTG bag a little while ago and got an absolutely amazing bag with loads of fruit and veg and some "junk" for DH!  Got a cabbage, runner beans, broccoli, 3 peppers, 3 pears, 6 easy peelers, bag of parsnips, box of blueberries, 2 huge plums, dozen large free range eggs, piece of carrot cake, 4 fruit scones, 2 panini, 6 baps.  Think that's the lot!  Not bad for £3.09.  The rolls and panini are already in the freezer.  DH has eaten one of the scones and he carrot cake already!

I said I hoped there might be a cabbage so we'll have some of that, some of the beans and the broccoli - that will save some of the frozen veg!  Glad I didn't actually get the swede/carrot mash out - that will do another day.  Will also roast a couple of the parsnips and prep and freeze the rest of the bag to use another day.

There will certainly be stuffed peppers on the menu this week - will just need to take something else off (probably something from the freezer!).
