    Morning all,

    Hope WI goes well @joedenise

Think I'm coming down with something, feeling a bit nauseous and really tired this morning. Having a cup of tea instead of my usual coffee and have planned food but will see how I feel.  WFH so at least in my own space!  Really hoping it wasn't last night's reduced salmon that's causing this as it was lovely!

    Today's food:
    B - toast (HEB), jam 2 syns
    L - lentil soup
    D - chilli with rice

It's our day of reckoning today too, the home scales are looking not too bad with new front numbers for both of us.

Looks like I will need an operation in the next few weeks (if things settle enough for it to be safe), I've been having terrible abdominal issues since mid July but thanks to the surgery only putting through non urgent referrals, only had a scan last Friday. To say I am fuming would be putting it very mildly, I had to push and make a nuisance of myself to even get that scan date through and now things are at a dangerous stage with complications and damage to other organs.

One of my 'issues' is a neurological one where the brain sends weird and wonderful signals, in years gone by it was said to be a hysterical disorder and unfortunately, some in the medical world still believe that and so things can be left or put down to the person being a bit of a drama llama. I think this is what has happened here, there really is no other explanation because anyone else presenting with the same symptoms would have been sent up to the hospital straight away or tests would have been rushed through.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Back to say I actually lost a lb!  No idea what's going on with my home scales as definitely a STS or 0.5lb loss at best.

I'm still 1.5lb above my actual target but at least it's a bit closer.  I'd really like to get down below that over the next few weeks but will just have to see how it goes.

Hope you're OK @Jellybaby and don't have anything nasty happening.  As you say at least your WFH in your own space - would definitely be worse if you needed to go into the office.

Good luck with the scan @SingleSue and with WI this week.
  • Meals today are

B wholemeal muffin (HEB), bacon, tomatoes and watercress
    L Carrot soup and salad
D Last of the leek and potato bake (cheese HEA) and chicken with yet more salad.
    HEA milk

Made an effort to have lots of speed veggies today

Batch cooked a load of less than 5% fat mince with a stock cube, onions, tomatoes and some mixed frozen little veg pieces peas, carrots, beans and sweetcorn.  Also cooked and mashed (wihout butter) swede and carrots - I now have lots of helpings of swede and carrot topped cottage pies in the freezer.

    Hi everyone,

Well done @joedenise on your 1lb loss, that’s really great 😊

Sorry to hear there have been delays to your treatment and that you’ve had a fight on your hands @SingleSue, really not good. Please feel free to vent here – you will have only supportive listeners xx

GWS @beanielou and @Jellybaby – hate to ask if you’ve tested for Covid? The latest variant is knocking folks for six here in the office ☹

Great to be batch cooking @MrsPorridge x

I ended up on just the 1 syn yesterday. Had a satsuma and an apple after dinner. I made the Sausage traybake from the Comfort Zone book. I used all 12 Aldi sausages but once cooked, kept 6 back in a bowl for DH to have for breakfasts. The remaining roasted veg (red and yellow peppers, fennel, garlic, potatoes, brown and red onion) I potted up and had cold for lunch today. It was yum.

    Food today:

B – overnight oats, 0% fat vanilla yoghurt from Aldi, cherries – HEB, 0.5, free

    L – roasted veg, 2 satsumas, banana, apple – S, free

D – SC mushroom risotto from the 50 Golden Greats book – free

    HEA – milk

Syns – hi fi bar plus 0.5 = 3.5 total

Have checked the syns for the cinnamon pears and works out at 5 syns - 2 syns for 100g pear; 3 syns for skinny crunch bar.  It's from the new Air Fryer book which will be available from w/c 8 October with 12 week countdown and on general sale after the offer finishes, which of course those of us that are target members are going to have to wait to see whether we can get a copy!

Well done @SingleSue and your middle son.  You are both doing amazingly well.

Well done on the batch cooking @MrsPorridge.  Always good to have plenty of HM ready meals in the freezer.  That's where tonight's lasagne is from - I made a large one and froze 2 x 2 portions and we had 2 portions when I made it.  These are the final portions so will need to make another one at some point but have a bit more preserving today with the tomatoes!

Going to make some more tomato and chilli jam as we both really enjoyed that with out toasted cheese sandwich at lunchtime and the recipe only made a couple of jars and DH gave one jar to our DD2 when she came down a couple of weeks ago.  Have also picked all the green tomatoes so that will be turned into chutney.  I also need to make some more marmalade at some time too as on the last jar of that too and DH does like a bit on his toast some mornings (or evenings!).

Well done on your losses @joedenise and @SingleSue. 👏👏👏

You seem to be settling into a regular loss @SingleSue, keep chipping away.

You're having a really good week @Coxy11. 🤞for getting back into range on Saturday.

HM ready meals are so useful @MrsPorridge. If you ever want to try the SP version of SW (sort of low carb) then the cottage pies are great. Yours have a tiny bit of free food (peas and sweetcorn) but close enough.

I went into M&S today @joedenise for a small pot of yogurt. Unlike you, we don't eat much (DH is having a break from putting it on his muesli) but I want to do @Coxy11's salmon linguine recipe.

For those that like pickles, I've been trying some pickled red cabbage from Sainsburys. It's Polish and different to the crunchy one, more shredded like sauerkraut. It's good value at £1 for a large jar 650g drained).

    Hope you're feeling better @Jellybaby and you too @beanielou . 🤗

Your mum is doing well to work through your dad's things @bubbs. Such a difficult task with so many memories. 😘

I'm finishing the week with 18 syns left. Hoping for an even better one next week as I have to go to WI. 🤔

    Today's EE plan -
    B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- JP (F), veggie chilli (P, S), pickles (S)
    D- spaghetti Bolognese (P, F, S), HEA 2 Parmesan
    Syns - 0

Well done @SingleSue and middle son - great losses!

The mushroom risotto was lush. DH did it on the job rather than the SC. Will definitely have again.
