Have just finished lunch and have decided I fancy an ice lolly so I'm having one of the Lidl Mini Mix lollies (they're like mini Magnums!) for 6 syns.

Had nearly run out of LTL mayo so ended up with less than a Tbs so only 0.5 syns rather than 1.

So 6.5 syns so far today.

What you need to remember @MrsPorridge is that SW is not a 'diet'. You can lose some weight by eating less to start with but longer term you'll be hungry or get fed up and the weight will come back on. SW works by eating plenty healthy food, especially fruit, veg and lean protein and having some treats (syns) in proportion. Surely there must be something you'd enjoy as a treat? Chocolate, crisps, booze? 🤔
Haha yes, all of the above :)

  • Can anyone help me with how many syns there are in wholemeal bread?  I make my own and in the book it talks about loaf sizes and medium and thick slices which is no use to me!

A 60g wholemeal roll is 6 syns or a HEB so that should help you calculate by weight. 🤔

60g of homemade bread can be counted as HEB or 6 syns as @maman says.  However if you have HM white bread then it will always be syns.  Just check the app for the number of syns as it will always depend on the weight.

    Afternoon all,

Hope you're doing OK @beanielou and things are settling down for you.

The feta and fig salad sounds delish.

WFH today and absolutely swamped just about to have my lunch!

    Today's food:
    B - toast (HEB), jam 2 syns
L - smoked ham, l/over chicken with roasted veg and pickles
D - fish, chips, peas, sweetcorn, carrots

    Hope everyone is doing OK

I'm sure you didn’t need that on the way to work @Coxy11 but well done on your step count. 👍 Hope you have a good week and get back to target range. 🤞

Why not enjoy a lolly if you and Joe are off the booze @joedenise. You have the syns to spare so use them. 😁

I've got about 20 syns left for 3 days. I've no plans to use them but might have a couple of chocolates as I'm working my way through some cherry liqueurs (2.5 syns each).

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
    L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
    D- sausage casserole (P, S, F ), penne (F)
    Syns - Aldi sausages 1

We had a very amusing chat about flexible syns at group on Saturday. One member put on 1lb and her fiancé lost 1lb. He had had KFC (as in proper KFC) and the only day she was off plan was an 82 syn day. She was so fed up. I mentioned the synbank of 105 and got a look from the consultant. Not that I do the synbank, but wondered if anyone in the room did. No-one fessed up  B)

Thanks so much for the advice on the bread.

I've tried to use a few more syns today!  And eaten more veggies.

B overnight oats (1HEB and 1.5 syns as I used stewed apple) - why is stewed apple synned and not fresh apple?  I stewed my own and did not use sugar
L hm carrot soup with 1 wholemeal muffin  7 syns (no butter or spread)
D cajun loaded potato wedges from the little free recipe book - using onions and peppers - this was delicious - DH enjoyed it too.
Snacks pear and fat free yoghurt
milk as HEA - also struggling to use 2 HEA's as I only use cheese in cooking and didn't fit it in today - actually I could have had some grated cheese with the soup or put it on the muffin I suppose.

    I think I'm getting there........

    You're doing really well @MrsPorridge. 👍

Don't worry about not using all your Healthy Extras every day . They're just that, extras to be sure we have enough fibre and calcium.

I think the stewed apple thing is something to do with some of the fibre being broken down in cooking and also that you could eat more than you would raw apples. But it doesn't apply to vegetables. 🤔

I know a syn bank/saving syns isn't the official SW line @Coxy11. Fortunately, it works for some people. 😁 I've done it from Day 1. I think @joedenise has tried both daily and weekly syns and it hasn't made a big difference to losses IIRC. 🤔
