    Evening all 😁

Mrs P, that does not look like a lot of food, as Denise said very light on speed. Don't go hungry!

Glad I made you all giggle,  but it must have been that.

    Food today

    Blt egg wraps

Roast pork, speed veg, 2 Yorkshire,  2 syns, gravy 4 syns. I had mint sauce as free 🤣

    Look at these Yorkshire 👌

  • @joedenise thanks for the comments.

The meatball sauce was made with onions, peppers, garlic and tinned tomatoes.

I just checked, it is the fat free natural greek yoghurt.

We are going to have egg salad, consisting of carrots, lettuce, spring onion, peppers and tomato.

I'm not too good with veggies, but realise that I have to eat as many speed ones as possible.

@MrsPorridge  - Have you tried having vegetables cooked in a different way to the usual boiled, steamed etc?  For example I can eat carrots raw or roasted but absolutely detest them boiled or steamed!

Green peppers I can't eat raw but roasted or stuffed and I'll wolf them down as it seems to sweeten them.

Now we're coming into autumn/winter time are you able to eat more vegetables in soups?  Especially if you whizz them up so you can't actually see what vegetables you're eating!

Glad it's fat free yoghurt you've got so don't have to use your syns for it.  In fact it doesn't look like you're having many syns at all.  Are you using them and just not posting for example.  I don't post all my syns just the ones I know I'm having at the beginning of the day!

That's what I noticed @joedenise. Today you've only posted 1 syn for a sausage @MrsPorridge. 🤣 I do hope you're using them. Well done for staying on plan. It seems harder at the weekend.

Feta and figs sound yummy @joedenise.😋

I've had Yorkshire puddings to your recipe @bubbs. Mine are small so just over 1 syn for 3.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB porridge, berries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
    L- JP (F), Bolognese (P, S), pickles (S)
D- roast beef (P), SW roast potatoes (F), Speed veg (S)
    Syns - gravy 4, horseradish 2, Yorkshires 1, weekend wine 😁

  • Yes you are right @joedenise and @bubbs I am not using many syns at all - today was just 1 for the sausage.

I like the idea of using the veggies in a different way - and I do make soup with veggies in the winter, so that will help with that side of things.

I have been so far off plan in the last 10 days or so. Lots of stuff going on here in RL & I am a stress eater.

Sorry to hear that @beanielou. Hope things settle down for you. 🤗

What you need to remember @MrsPorridge is that SW is not a 'diet'. You can lose some weight by eating less to start with but longer term you'll be hungry or get fed up and the weight will come back on. SW works by eating plenty healthy food, especially fruit, veg and lean protein and having some treats (syns) in proportion. Surely there must be something you'd enjoy as a treat? Chocolate, crisps, booze? 🤔

Morning all, looking like another nice day although a bit windy.  Hopefully will get out into the garden and cut down some more of the overgrown trees and brambles from next door's garden.  It's getting really out of control and unfortunately they are unable to do it themselves as they're both disabled.  I'm trying to help as much as I can but as the owner of the bungalow decided to put up a 6' fence rather than the previous 4' one with a 2' trellis above it's more difficult to reach.

Meant to buy some cottage cheese to have with our jackets today when I went out yesterday and completely forgot so beans or tuna it'll have to be, will see which DH fancies.

@beanielou - hope things settle down for you soon.  It's hard when RL stresses you out.

@MrsPorridge - @maman is right SW is a healthy eating plan not a diet.  You really need to have some syns otherwise you're not really doing the plan as it's intended.  It takes a bit of time to get used to be able to have "treats" when you have been used to doing a restrictive diet.  It was probably a bit easier for me to get my head round as I had never actually tried to diet before which I think was quite useful in that respect.  I used to use most of my syns on wine but now hardly every drink!  It's the occasional glass of wine when I go out for a meal rather than drinking a bottle of wine indoors.  If I want a drink indoors I'm tending to have 0% gin now but that's mainly because DH can't drink due to the tablets he's on so think it's unfair to drink when he can only have alcohol free.

    Anyway today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
    L - jacket potato, beans or tuna mayo, salad - S; F; poss P; 1?
    D - oxtail stew, mash - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - possibly LTL mayo 1; not sure what else.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

Thanks for the feta and fig salad recipe @joedenise – I will definitely try that one, sounds delicious.

I cannot bear baked apple @bubbs – think it’s harks back to wet Winters in the 1970s when my Mum used to make it – hideous!

Definitely use more syns @MrsPorridge or you may start to feel hard done by x

Sorry to hear that @beanielou x Hope you’re okay and things will settle down for you soon. I too am a stress eater, none of this starving yourself malarky!

I’m in the office today. Bit of a rubbish start as my train was cancelled so I took the next available one to a different London station, and had to walk 30 minutes the other end. I guess I should be thankful that I’ve already got 4,300 steps in today!

I am feeling quite positive about this week food-wise.

    Food today is:

B – overnight oats with mullerlight vanilla and cherries – HEB, 0.5, free

    L – LO chilli con carne, grapes, 2 satsumas – free, S

D – smoked salmon and pea pasta – 3 syns for single cream

    HEA – milk

Syns – 3 for dinner plus a hifi bar so 6 total
