Morning all, DH is still sleeping like a baby again this morning. He got some tablets from the GP as he's not been sleeping properly for a long time. I'm sure he's worrying about an upcoming operation - he's going through various tests at the moment to check that his body is up to it as it's a major one concerning his abdominal aorta (main artery to the heart).
Had to laugh @bubbs about the wind, sorry but it's quite funny (and admitting it on here!).
Didn't get to the butchers yesterday to get the braising steak so will going there this morning to get it - he's open from 9-12 on a Sunday. Think he must be one of the few that opens 7 days a week. Also nabbed a TGTG bag from Morrisons so will need to go and pick that up this afternoon. After checking what's in it I may need to go into the shop to get a couple of bits as need some mushrooms, cucumber and salad leaves.
Today's plan:
B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
L - feta and fig salad - HEB; HEA2; S; F; 2
D - braised steak and onions, roast potatoes and veg, green veg - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - feta
HEB - walnuts or Scholar ciabatta roll (if I can get them!)
Syns - LF sausages 2; tsp olive oil 2; 50ml 0% gin 0.5
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
I too am giggling at your TMI @bubbs. Where was that cheese pot from?
I'm going to Aldi this morning, will get there for opening time. DH and DD shared some beer and crisps last night as we watched both the England and Ireland rugby matches back to back when we got in. I stuck to a Pepsi max and actually felt a bit hungry, then realised that I hadn't had my HEB yesterday.
Food today:
B - poached egg, tomatoes, 1 x WM toast, banana - P, S, 1/2 HEB, Free
L - SW katsu curry pot from Iceland* - Free
D - Chicken biryani - Free
HEA - milk
HEA - cheddar portion
1/2 HEB - hi fi bar
Syns - Seabrooks loaded fries - 4

Morning, thanks all for the info on my burger yesterday. Definitely wasn’t the best choice but I really enjoyed it and I didn’t have any more syns last night and will keep low the next few days.
You made me laugh @bubbs 😄
I’m off to have a wander round the shops and probably stop for a coffee and people watch 😁
I snagged a reduced cooked chicken in Morrisons yesterday so that’s dinner tonight.

Got an email this morning and Morrisons have cancelled my TGTG bag so ended up going to Tesco this morning to get the bits I needed before going to the butchers to get the braising steaks. Believe it or not Tesco only sell diced stewing steak and no braising steak at all!
Well done on the reduced cooked chicken @Jellybaby.0 -
Just wanted to say the fig and feta salad was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be doing that again. I used walnuts as my HEB as didn't get the rolls to make croutons with. Will keep an eye open for them and get some in the freezer for next time I make this. DH has asked for it again this week so it must have been good! Will need to buy some more feta though as definitely not enough left to make it again.0

Ooh I got figs at Aldi @joedenise. What else is in the salad? Loving the sound of that!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0

I used mixed leaves, chopped cherry tomatoes, cubes of cucumber, 90g of feta (2 HEA), 10 half walnuts (2 HEB). Made a dressing of 2 tsps olive oil (4 syns); Tbs walnut vinegar; tsp honey (1) - give a good shake and pour over the salad and then give a good mix. This was for both of so 1 HEA, 1 HEB and 2.5 syns each.
If you can get hold of the gluten free Schar ciabatta rolls you can make them into garlic croutons and use those for HEB instead of the walnuts but as I didn't get the rolls I used the walnuts for a bit of crunch instead.
Makes a change from bread for my HEB and cheddar for my HEA!
I've since weighed the piece of feta left and there is enough left to make it again, Yay! No need to buy more.

I survived the weekend!
Today meals
B wholemeal muffin HEB, scrambled eggs in fry light and be good to yourself sausage 1 syn
L I made the meatballs from the little booklet I got when I joined and we had them with pasts
Supper later, hard boiled egg salad if we feel hungry.
Also some fruit and low fat greek natural yoghurtDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
@MrsPorridge - looks a good day although sounds a bit light on Speed particularly if you don't have the salad, although have to admit it doesn't matter what I eat during the day I still need to eat something for dinner! I usually add some spinach when I make scrambled egg. If I haven't got any fresh I use one of those little pucks of frozen and defrost in the microwave.
Did you have a HM tomato sauce with the meatballs and pasta as otherwise they could be a bit light on Speed too.
I know you've said some fruit and yoghurt later so that will increase the Speed a bit. Are you synning the yoghurt as it's only Fat Free natural greek yoghurt which is free not the low fat one.
