Maman, she is very switched on
just hope she don't lose her marbles in the next 20 weeks 😂 as takes that long now for POA to come through.
Yes she got her scooter but has not been out on it yet as when anyone arranges to be there with her for her first outing it's piddling it down!Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -
@maman - Our Drs in town do blood tests but the couple of times I've tried getting them done there the nurse or HCA hasn't been able to get any blood out of me so I end up at the hospital but also have massive bruises in each are! It's just easier and safer to just go to the hospital and get it done!
@bubbs - it's a good job your mum is switched on as it would be awful if she hadn't realised and queried it and then ended up several months down the line with a request to pay it all back! That's definitely a good pension for her to get 3/4 of your dad's pension. Hopefully she'll be able to get out on her scooter soon.
Unfortunately we don't have a Farm Foods at all near me. The nearest one to me is Canterbury and that's an hour or more away! We're popping down to the M&S Food Hall over the weekend so I'll look to see if they have some. DH loves them too but suspect they won't be as cheap in there as Aldi or Foods!
Glad you enjoyed your first group @MrsPorridge. Just stick to the plan - including having your syns - no need not to have things you fancy while you're losing weight and you'll lose some weight this week.0 -
Yes she is pleased as she was worried because she only gets half state pension in her own right, so thought she would have to claim pension credit, but she now gets half of dad's and his work pension so she will have enough for her bills, luckily no rent to worry about just everyday bills, but as we all know there not cheap!Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0

Morning all,
Well done @MrsPorridge on joining the group. Just think, you need never see that number again. Hope you have a super first week!
Glad that your DMum queried the pension @bubbs - what a palaver. Now for confession time…I had Prosecco and crisps last night BUT I have an excuse!! You may remember that I interviewed for a role
back in July at my local NHS hospital. Was pipped at the post by an internal
candidate but the lady interviewing me called after and said she’d bear me in mind for other roles as thought I was fab. Well she called yesterday - the person hasn’t worked out - would I like the job AND she’s happy to wait until end of November for me. OMG I was so shocked but of course said yes! Means no more applications to fill in or interviews to do. Will probably take 8 weeks to onboard me and I’ll have no break in salary so all the compensation can be saved. So so happy!
Off to WI shortly and will have put on but I’ll take it!!!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -

Great news @Coxy11, well done. Hope it all works out for you.
Good morning everyone. Weather is looking good this morning, very bright and gentle breeze so machine load of washing on the line and another in the machine which will go out as soon as it's done.
Running a bit behind this morning as DH finally had a good night's sleep after nearly a week of virtually no sleep so didn't get up until 8 o'clock. I'm just cooking breakfast now so we'll be having that shortly.
So today's plan:
B - stuffed mushrooms - HEA2; P; S; F
L - small portion butter chicken with rice (from freezer) - P; S; F; 2
D - gammon, egg, chips, beans - P; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - none planned
Syns - butter 2; may have more later depending on how I feel and what I fancy
Have a good day everyone.

Thanks all for your encouragement and ideas. Its really useful for me to see what you have all been eating.
DH is being brilliant when we went out last night he had a pint and bought me a diet coke! He does listen to me sometimes. But, its really handy that he is on board. I also did quite a bit of dancing so have filled out my activity log which I didn't think I would be doing - just goes to show!
I've worked out my plan for today
B muffin toasted (HEB) with sliced tomatoes
L hard boiled egg salad with low fat mayo (using syns) - am going to take this to the sea shanty festival and eat it surreptiouslyThey are serving hog roast and DH will have one of them. Luckily I am not that bothered about hog roast (but its a good test for me as I am so determined) I will use my syns for a glass of wine or small bottle of prosecco.
D jacket spud with baked beans and low fat cheese (HEA) and salad without dressing
Snacks fruit
I've also measured my milk out for today just to see how much I use - don't think I will go over the allowance for HEA - I don't have cereal and if I have porridge I always use water.Debt free and Keeping on Track0
