Hi everyone,
My day got worse yesterday as the internet went completely just before lunchtime and has only just come back on. So no work(!), TV, Radio, Apps etc. DH away in Birmingham so DD and I walked the dog and then played some Rummikub and read our books in silence. Very reminiscent of my 70's childhood. DD not impressed at all!
Engineer was meant to be here between 8am and 1pm. I was checking the box on the wall every 15 minutes or so, and lo all green lights suddenly appeared at 11.30am. No phone call to me as DH is the contact - he was in workshops so missed the calls. TBH we changed to this provider 3 months ago and are forever having to reset the router. I'm going to complain AND get my details on the account. Something wrong in the road apparently and we were one of 5 households affected.
Really enjoyed the dinner last night and headache eased off. Helped that I had an early bath, face mask and early bed. Food today all on plan - cereal, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast plus a banana. Still haven't had lunch as catching up with work, but boss about to go into a meeting, so will go eat something now.
Think I've missed @ruby_eskimo - hope she has a fantastic holiday xx
Let us know how group goes @MrsPorridge - I always eat at group - usually some fruit or a hifi - it's all good!

Afternoon all, it's been a bit of a waste of a morning again! We left home about 7.50 to drop DH's car off at the garage as he keeps getting a sensor light on the dashboard so wanted them to check it out. We both then needed to go to Sittingbourne Hospital to get blood tests done and didn't home from there until nearly 12 as it was so busy. It was because all the other local blood testing places were closed for some reason so everyone needed to go there today! Lots of people decided not to bother today and go home and try again next week!
Was absolutely starving when we got home as mine was a fasting blood test so hadn't had anything since about 7.45pm last night but stuck to plan with a BLT - very tasty it was too.
Have a great holiday @ruby_eskimo. I'm sure you will!
Good luck with your first group @MrsPorridge.
What a pain with your internet @Coxy11 but at least you got off work for a while! Glad the headache eventually cleared.
Today's plan:
B/L - BLT - HEB; P; S; 2.5
D - beef stew, mash - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - low fat spread 2.5
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Reading your post @joedenise, I realise how lucky we are with our GP surgery. They're about 200 yards down to road and do blood tests. You seem to have spent the last couple of days driving around! ☹️ Glad to hear you managed to hold out till lunchtime and enjoyed your BLT. 👍
We've been having issues with our Internet too @Coxy11. All the people in our road with Virgin were suffering. It was irritating and inconvenient for us but a huge problem for those, like you, WFH. Pleased that the headache went and you enjoyed your dinner but not the evening you and DD were planning.
Like you, I was eating up what was left in the fridge for lunch @Jellybaby. I had a peculiar concoction of cottage cheese with some vegetable hash. 🤔
Meal plan and shop now sorted so all set for the week. 👍
Today's EE plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA 1 milk, berries (S)
L- cottage cheese (P), veggie hash (F. S)
D- chicken in bacon (P, HEA 2), SW chips (F), green stuff, mushrooms, tomatoes (S)
Syns - weekend wine 😁0 -
I was a bit nervous but I needn't have been. The consultant was lovely, as were all the group. It was quite a large group and lots of people stayed for the talk afterwards which was really nice.
I was horrified when I stood on the scales and almost burst into tears - but it did make me realise that I have definitely done the right thing.
I have downloaded the app - that scanner thingy is amazing isn't it? I scanned a few bar codes at home and now know how to count those food items.
I have read all the books and joined the FB group for my group.
Today I had:
B: overnight oats HEB
L: carrot soup (home made)
D Fish pie from the magazine using 1 syn with loads of lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions
Milk HEA
Cheese (on top of fish pie) HEA
Weather permitting we are going out again to see a band - a short walk to the cafe where they are performing. I am aiming to have an Americano coffee there - no alcohol as that will be tomorrow night as the pub is doing a Sea Shanty event from 12 mid-day to 11pm at night ( we will go during the day).
I am really determined to stick with it and hope to have a loss the first week - usually I need to starve myself to lose any weight so it feels strange to eat so much - I feel I am eating more already.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Well done @MrsPorridge! It's a big step but you're on your way! 🎉
On Slimming World you definitely don't need to starve yourself. Don't even think about it. Eat as much as you need as long as you stick to the one third Speed fruit and veg (ideally more). And use your syns, they're part of the plan.
Enjoy yourself tomorrow. 😊1 -

Took Mum shopping today , last week she got a letter saying what she would get from Dad's company pension, well it was £200 more than Dad got 🤔 she said this can;t be right and rung them up, he looked at it and said it looked right to him but he would refer it back to weetabix she would hear this week, she did hear this week and it was wrong! She said good job i realised and didn't want to get 6 months down the line and have to pay it all back! But it is very good she gets 3/4 of it.
