Still not properly on plan here. But I did go to the football and had a satsuma at half time instead of a Crunchie! 😇🤣

Some food has been OK like breakfast and lunch (the usual cold meat, bubble and squeak and pickles 😁) but not the cheese, wine, crisps and sandwiches!

DD1 and DGD1 have been staying but now things will return to more normal. 🤞
  • @jellybaby , how wonderful that you had the room to take in a couple more for dinner. So very generous of you> As for my syns - I never ever ever count the liquid ones, of which there were plenty :) Actually I will admit to feeling a bit "tired" when I woke, its been a very long time since I had wine and the wine I had got was ruddy top notch , much better then the usual £6 a bottle stuff , so it went down like sweet milk :)

Oh a Kitten @NornIronRose, how wonderful .I was never a cat lover until I had to take my last dog to his final visit to the vet. Said no more, cant do that again, so took in a rescue kitten, what a learning curve. :) Unfortunately wee Arthur had a short life ( cancer ) but we got Timmy a year later, who's still with us, and the best mouser in the world :)  As long as the older cat has room to move away, you will be grand . When Buddy the dog came into our lives it was tricky at first, now they lie side by side. We need Pictures

@joedenise, what a disappointment re the wellingtons :(  I hear you, if you are going to max the syns, so got to be worth it !!!  Im with you now regarding pastry, love the stuff but it no longer loves me. I have a pack of the just roll puff in the freezer to make Jaimies Leek and Turkey pie - it really is a beautiful pie , been making it here for years , but I know I shall suffer

@bubbs, such restraint :) and sure you have the wiggle room so yep - hex the lot :)

I love Boxing Day . Cooking doesn't come into the equation at all, all done Christmas morning and now till Monday (NYD) Im freed from the kitchen :) Well there will be a little bit of cooking  - spuds usually :)   Today it was Christmas dinner again, only this time I remembered the red cabbage :) Everything other then the roasties was left overs - loverly :)  I did bacon rolls with stilton for brunch using the medallions I had so not too naughty and oh so good :)

Treats, well I had a sugar biscuit from Lidl. Anyone try those? Favoronia Sugar biscuits, kind of like a shortbread but crunchier, really good, and a couple of Baileys truffles . I was going to go for a mince pie but fell asleep. Now of course Im wide awake at silly o'clock .  I did have a little jump on the scales, Ive got to pull the reigns in for sure. Still at target, but need to watch it from tomorrow. Im going shopping today with a GF so coffee and cake is on the menu but that should be it as far as food syns now till NYD   Alcohol syns, well Ive never counted them, they are what they are and Im not stressing those . The drink is in, Ive never been "just the one" its always all or nothing and nothing starts on the 2nd

Anyways Im going to go to bed and try to get some proper sleep. We just got rid of storm Pia yesterday and now another storm - Gerrit - is battering us. Its absolutely chucking it down and the wind is fearsome , so noisy

Morning all, what a horrible, wet, windy, miserable, grey day!  Doing my friend a favour by taking her sister home (she's nearly 83 and blind) so she doesn't need to try getting her on and off trains - she's quite frail now and very slow and to get her home it would be a bus, 3 trains and then another bus so not an easy journey with a frail old lady.

As her sister lives fairly close to an IKEA we're going to drive down there after as there's a few bits we want from there so will probably have lunch there.  I think I'll probably have the salmon with mixed grains - assuming they've still got that on their menu!

Hope you managed to get some sleep @Longwalker when you went back to bed.  Nothing worse than not being able to sleep, always makes me feel very sluggish the next day when I don't get enough!

    Today's plan:

B - bacon and mushroom sandwich
L - salmon, mixed grains (hopefully!)
D - spicy Moroccan chickpea stew, couscous

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 2; oil in mixed grains 2?; flaked almonds (about 6g!) 2

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

I now have a delightful dry cough which means sleep is a bit hit and miss. This covid really is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm going to test again today as really want to go out! DH has gone to DS1s to help him lay a floor and DD and DS2 are still asleep. I have a bit of housework to do plus need to sort a donation bag for charity. Food is still very much leftovers. We have half the turkey crown plus about a third of the gammon left - bought a big one early to host with on Christmas Eve......
I didn't have a drink yesterday but did indulge in some chocs whilst watching many films.

How exciting to have a new kitten @NornIronRose please post photos x
Safe travels @joedenise and good choice for Ikea, let's hope it's on the menu today
Good on you for eating a satsuma at the football @maman - you need to polish that halo for sure :)
Nice of you to host extra folk @Jellybaby - just so relieved we hadn't invited anyone else to our house this year, can you imagine?!
Definitely HEX that cheese @bubbs - it contains fruit after all!!

Have had a poached egg on toast for breakfast. Not sure what else I'll have today but dinner will be leftovers with fresh cooked veg. Pie will be made tomorrow I think.

Sleet, rain and wind currently battering us 😱 Love IKEA @joedenise enjoy your trip and lunch.

Good you’re feeling better @Coxy11 and hope you get a negative! DS2 is in bed with a bad cold, we don’t have any tests left so is keeping away from me. DS1 is working and won’t be back until Hogmanay.

I’m out for dinner tonight and quite honestly would rather stay home in my pjs. I’ve had enough of the festive cheer and food, especially leftovers, already. Oh what a grump I am 🤣🤣

I hope everyone is keeping safe from storm Gerrit, filthy wet day, quite windy here, but not dangerously so.
Like others some meals on plan or not far off, but had foodie gifts to incorporate over the next few weeks. I cooked beef roast and pork roast so lots of yummy meat as well as good selection of the cheap veg. Planning on some curry and perhaps goulash meals for the freezer.

My scales this morning indicated I might just nudge out of target range,  (I am blaming the cheese to) so did not WI today, just walked round with friend who actually lost 1/2 lb (she was amazed, but fully expecting the excesses to show next week as she still has house guests. Consultant had been keen for people to turn up to weigh today, to keep the commitment going and collect the new books, I think she was glad to get them out of her house!

Family get together at weekend (siblings etc.) think it will be a roast and the puddings don't often tempt me.

Hope all had a good Christmas, and hugs to those whose didn't go to plan.  I always struggle a bit missing those who aren't with me any more.  I do enjoy Christmas but am glad its now over and I'm itching to get back to normal.  Took a few deccies down today and tomorrow will see the rest be taken down and put away.

Still not really on plan - if it wasn't for the chocolates I would be!  Still though, I'm not eating as much as I would have been if I wasnt on SW.  Am going to WI on Friday regardless.

Still on the leftovers here @Jellybaby. 🤣 I've just stripped the last of the meat from the turkey and we'll have that with chips and salad for dinner.

It's tipping down with rain here, dark and gloomy. We've got visitors tomorrow (DD2 and family) but just for tea and cake. Today it's just us so can please myself. 😊

Ham, pickles and LO veg for lunch and fry up for breakfast so all food on plan so far.

I'll probably have some syns this evening but not decided what yet. 🤔Plenty to choose from.

I do hope you test negative in time to socialise a bit @Coxy11. 🤞

I was thinking of a new thread for the weekend. What do you think of 'Lose pounds more in' 24 with Slimming World ' or any other ideas? 🤔
