Glad your taste is coming back.  Hopefully you can enjoy your Christmas dinner later!

  • God sent his son Jesus to absolve of us our SYNS ( sorry absolutely no offence intended ) so nope, no syns this week :)

Actually I am pretty religious but hey if we cant have a joke

`doing well food wise, dinner and the real naughty bit which I dint even bother looking in th e book for was the pork and chestnut stuffing wrapped in bacon, the goose fat roasties and the turkey juice gravy

Extras were a cube of Lidl chrsitmas fudge - OMG absolutely to die for and a piece of lidl baklava .  Took the dog for a two miler and all I could hear was "gurgle splash gurgle"

I need no more food but Im close to tears and tbh its been its usual !!!!!! day so I dunno

I hope every one else is having a great day xx
  • Aw Longwalker. Sorry you're close to tears, but the food sounds good! How am I going to resist that fudge if I see it? Hope tomorrow is a much better day for you.

    ah sure Im OK :)

Just like most, have an idea of perfection and that doesn't exist

I could have torn himself a new one, but mother had a lovely day so a win

myself, I just find Christmas very difficult so I have this idea of how it should be, I think we all have that. Mines not wild, I just have a wee timetable and an expectation that I have help for the time I need help and today Mr L thought his timetable was better then mine :) I swallowed mine, he swallowed his and the day passed off

Anyways I got all of two hours sleep last night so and heading shortly xxx
  • I hear you Longwalker. It's hard when it doesn't go how we hope or plan.
New day today and a better one all being well. Hopefully we are bringing home a kitten today! Praying that our 3 yr old cat takes to him ok. Going to follow the advice we have found online as we have never been in this position before.

Foodwise I should be ok today. I'm enjoying my salad with cous cous dinners.  Biggest tests will be that my dd1 is here and she's a real foodie. But I got the girls takeaway last night and they have leftovers that they can eat.

Normally when I shop after xmas it's hunting out the reduced chocs, Christmas cake slabs etc. This year I'm hoping for veg. Got broccoli for 15p in Asda the other day but no other decent veg wars near me.

Well, on call is awaiting me, so will fire up the laptop, get a cuppa and hope it isn't too busy.

Merry Christmas all, I didn’t get a chance to pop on yesterday but hope you all had a good day.

We had two extra relatives join us for dinner, welcome but unexpected! Long story but there was enough food of course but it was all a bit of a squash as I already had two more than usual 🙈 anyhoo was very happy to put my feet up last night with a few wines.

Hope you’re feeling grand today @Longwalker and I’m impressed you know what your extra syns were. I have eaten and drank for Scotland and have another two dinners out to go so weigh in on Saturday is not going to be pretty!

Today is all about the leftovers which will feature my favourite bubble and squeak with gammon for lunch 😁

Afternoon all, hope everyone has had a good Christmas.  We were on our own so didn't do the big Christmas dinner but just had our beef wellington with roasties and veg.  Have to say it was massively underwhelming and won't be buying them ready made again!  In fact probably won't even make them myself again as not really that bothered about pastry!  Think I'd rather have had just a piece of fillet steak!

Hope you're feeling OK today @Longwalker.  I have no idea how many syns I had yesterday but definitely way too many!  I weighed this morning at home and am definitely a couple of pounds over top end of target so need to get back on plan and that will be happening from tomorrow which, of course, would be my normal WI day.  I was going to get back on plan today but went over to DD1s late morning and ended up having some cream crackers and Philly for lunch instead of the planned jacket potato I was going to have.  Her partner had also made a very rich chocolate brownie so had a piece of that which would have taken me well over syns!

The only problem with not doing the big Christmas dinner is that there are no leftovers!  Although I have got some carrots and parsnips to deal with!  Going to prep them, par boil and then freeze ready for roasting in the weeks to come.

    So today's meals:

    B - toasted cheese sandwich
    L - crackers & Philly (as above)
D - cold pork, chips, mushrooms

    Back to normality from tomorrow!
