Sending you a big hug @bubbs. Such a difficult day for your friend's nearest and dearest and it somehow seems even harder at this time of the year. 🤗

Hope you feel better soon @Coxy11. Damn nuisance to get Covid now. ☹️

1lb isn't bad at all @MrsPorridge. At least having your group running should help keep you on the straight and narrow. 🤞

I got almost all of my shopping done today, just some bread and milk to buy on Sunday.

On plan again today, although still having a bit of chocolate occasionally. I opened the chocolate marzipan last night 😋

    Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA 1 milk for drinks
L- JP (F),  cottage cheese, ham (P), spring onions, pickles (S)
D- chicken with salsa (P, S, HEA 2 cheese), SW chips (F), green stuff (S)
    Syns - salsa 1? weekend wine 😁

Apologies, not been around to cheer along or commiserate for a while. Nothing awful, just life, fatigue and stuff. I am still plodding along with SW, staying in range sometimes up a little, sometimes down a little. I go to most of the meetings to keep me focused and enjoy the social side, a neighbour also joined and it is nice to get to know her better too.

@beanielou your tea out sounds lovely, did that in the Summer and it was great.
@Coxy11 rotten luck contracting the dreaded Covid so close to Christmas too, I hope that you feel a little better this evening..
@Jellybaby it is good when some time has passed and we are able to talk about and remember the the laughs we had with out missing loved ones.
@MrsPorridge hopefully you will manage a STS this week.
@bubbs hugs to you, your friend was a very courageous lady.
@maman that chocolate marzipan sounds too hard to resist, not opened the box of nougat or the cherry liqueurs here yet, we restricted ourselves to just those and a chunk of Christmas cake so far for this year.  Trying to stay away from the shops tomorrow, but I do enjoy the atmosphere in our little town on Christmas Eve, sadly no Salvation Army bank here like there was in Somerset and Birmingham when we lived there.

I hope that everyone's prep is going well and no-one else becomes poorly.

Morning all, another dry, windy day but much brighter too so final load of washing is on the line which will hopefully dry.

Glad your friend's funeral went as well as these things can @bubbs and good that her final dying wish was taken into account.  Well done on your 0.5lb loss this week and winning the raffle.  What was in it?

Hope you feel better soon @Coxy11.  Never a good time to contract Covid but Christmas is definitely the worst time.

Well done @MrsPorridge - a lb gain is nothing in the scheme of things.  It's a case of good when you can and careful when you can't going forward and completely back on plan as soon as possible.

I seem to have completely lost the plot over the last week and have been eating mini stollen like they are going out of fashion - I'll be glad when the box has gone!  According to my scales I'm now at top end of target and we haven't even got to Christmas yet!  Oh well, I'll be back on plan once Christmas is out of the way.  At least for a few weeks until my holiday.

Have had to change our holiday as we got an email from the tour operator to say our holiday had significantly changed - they'd moved the flight forward 3 days so 4 Jan instead of 7 Jan which was no good to us as DH has a scan on is Aortic Artery as a following up after his operation a couple of months ago so not something that can really be moved as he has an appointment with the Consultant in February.  We are now going to the same area of Lanzarote but at different hotel from 15 January.  Just need to decide whether I'm going to go to WI the week before so I don't need to worry about putting on weight while I'm away AI or whether to leave it as things stand which will mean having to go 2 weeks after I get back!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with bacon - P; S; F
    L - ham and tomato sandwich - HEB; P; S; 2
    D - chana masala, rice - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - soft pitta
    Syns - spread 2; wine?

    Have a good day everyone.

Hope you start feeling brighter soon @Coxy11. Thinking of you and your friend @bubbs 🥰 and we’ll done on the loss.

Well! Still can’t believe it but I lost three pounds this morning 🥳 consultant asked what I’d done differently and the honest answer is nothing 🤣 Although I do think all those maintains have maybe caught up with me?? I’m taking it and running and I’ll more than likely put it on again over the holidays 😜

Thankfully I’m not keen on all the Christmassy things involving mincemeat or marzipan but crisps and nuts are a completely different story.

Out with a friend tonight for dinner and wine will be involved and knowing my friend probably gin too.
  • @bubbs, good to hear you and mum could giggle. This time of year is very hard of so many , extremely difficult if a loved one passed in the year - the firsts of everything to get through. I too was thinking about you yesterday, funerals at this time of yeah - but at least shes been put to rest, you haven't had a very long wait. We are lucky here, its on the third day, even if that day is Christmas Day, you are buried

Well done on the loss xx

@jellybaby , you have some will power :) As I said in group today, Christmas Day is not the problem, its this week when customers are bring in chocolates and biscuits to us by the shed load. And I know it happens in most work places, the GP surgery reception was piled high with tins and boxes of goodies

@beanielou , lucky you out for afternoon tea :) Im weird cos whilst I love the concept, Id prefer the sandwiches and savouries. Once the scone has been reached, I dont want all the dainties  :)

@coxy11, what awful luck re the covid. I hope you arent too rough.

@joedenise PITA regarding the holiday, but at least you have something booked. I personally would weigh in before I left  - myself - cos Id want to know how much leeway I had whilst away  else Id be going sod it, must have gained over Christmas might as well break the bank. But thats me. Thats why I slip off to a Friday WI if Ive a heavy weekend ahead , in my mind I dont want to lose the week where I might record a loss

@Mrsporridge, a 1lb in my head would be, well thats not too bad, a 1lb I can deal with, and just ease back a little - for me it would be cut the bread. Just a wee little change will deal with the pound, whilst still enjoying myself

I weighed in with a pound loss, which Im totally amazed with tbh. Seriously unneeded extras have been flying down my neck and very little exercise - Pia is still battering us. However in a way because its happening in work hours its pretty much easier to pull back in the evenings, although even there Ive reached for bread late nights :(  Still only tomorrow to get through then home safe and then I really do have to make the conscious decision to open something and consume. And last night, all bets were off. Carol Service and the ladies of the parish put on the tea - 90% of it home made and like who's going to be rude and say no thank you? So three different mince pies, a piece of shortbread and a brownie, washed down with a big mug of tea - bloody lovely. I went with my friend, the one who's husband killed himself earlier this year, we have been supporting each other all year, and shes also lost a lot of weight with all the walking we do. She too said sod it, and OMG the pair of us in the car home breaking wind like a pair of kids. Pastry and bread has the same effect on her now as it does me - seriously within minutes of eating either, the bloating and the wind comes on lol. Still it was worth it, will keep us away from it for a good while now :)

So we were told to go enjoy Christmas , eat and be merry and be back for WI on Saturday . which I will be doing. Knowing what damage has been done - or not - in a week helps me. Im still two below target so Ive a bit of leeway
