Another amazing haul @bubbs. You seem to be popping in to the Company Shop quite regularly lately! 🤣

I just had a few Pringles, far too rich for me. I tried the Proper crisps earlier in the week but far too bland. I'm sounding like Goldilocks! 😁 My favourites are plain, ready salted, ideally Seabrooks so I'll know what to buy next time, whenever that is!

  • I'd never heard of company shop until you all mention it.
Our nearest one is almost 50 miles away. Is it worth the journey? Or is it a bit of pot luck?
And I have a small fridge and freezer. Should I?

Definitely pot luck @NornironRose. I'm lucky to have one a few minutes from home but never seem to have the bargains @bubbs finds. She's got an amazing knack of finding bargains wherever she goes. 😁

    Morning everyone,

The pie was amazing - I used up the turkey and majority of the aromatic ham, also froze another box of meat for another day. I used double cream, leeks and ready rolled puff pastry so absolutely, 100% not on plan. But given the Christmas I've just had, I feel it's worth it!

I'm meeting a friend at lunchtime - the one who lost his mum earlier in the year. We are going to a cafe near my new job and I know they do some SW friendly options so that's the plan.

Great CS haul @bubbs. Nothing near me unfortunately :(

    Have a good day all.

  • @coxy11 so glad you are covid free, not that its the weather for being out and about mind. I love the leek and Turkey pie. I used chestnuts in the pasty but I didnt add milk/cream or anything, just chicken stock. Threw in a few bits of ham and chopped up chipolatas and the tiny bit of stuffing that was left - was lush. I made it super deep so only had the tiniest bit of pastry. Served with wedges , carrots and peas and I finished up the red cabbage

@Nornirionrose Defo not preggers and I dont think Ive covid :). Ended up having a cuppa in work - with a cheeky tea cake - oops

Hope you are ok @beanielou ?

@joedenise, wise use of the cars. We always try to fit in 3 or 4 jobs if we need to go to town. Saturday is my WI in town so I get the groceries then , no point in a ten mile trip just to weigh in.If I need a top up I use the local petrol station on the way home. Bit more expensive then lidl but Im not putting the miles in just for milk or whatever. Hope the tooth is salvageable and not too costly

@maman , I too am hoping it will shift quickly. This is why I need a countdown, if it goes to plan - the quitting the drink  - I always loose weight and if that happens Im going to drop well below target so am going to end up paying so I thought Id get a six week one and get the free book :) I set this target because I knew I was doing dry January in a bid to kick start abstinence again so I didnt want to go too low , but Im still a wee tubs :) Middle age spread is just so difficult to shift, Even though Ive shrunk so much in clothe sizes, I still look like a Buddha in the nude lol

@mrsporridge , dont be so hard on yourself. We are all guilty of buying too many treats at Christmas, its hard to resist, even harder at the moment when all the selection boxes etc are half price !! Hell in the past Id be filling the trolley. Even this year where I thought I had it all sussed and didnt buy sharing stuff - still loads ended up in the house - gifts. Still Im glad all the mini baklava have gone - thats one temptation removed for me. Ok so 90% of them ended up in MY belly is neither here nor there - they are gone so another step to getting back on track :) You are at least mindful of whats tripping you up, thats really important for moving forwards

@bubbs, I need to move to where you live, Id never be out of the shop :) What great bargains xx

So Im still losing at keeping the syns down. Change of shift times at work - 1-5 - great that I have time in the morning for HW/cooking ahead etc, so not good for the waistline. I had a horrendous journey in, got in with 5 mins to spare and we were rammed so I was straight in, only there 15 mins and I felt so ill, shaking , spilt a jug of milk over a customer - yep hunger so what do I do? Yep reached for the choccies for the sugar rush. It was near 3pm before I managed to get a cup of soup in me. Hence the tea cake later in the afternoon.

Today Im leaving a bit earlier so as not to leave it so fine. - the sales are on, car parking is hard to find and its a one way system so round and round you go.  I can get 10 mins before I start to get a wee bite and calm down before getting straight in. Also taking back a dress I bought for NYE. We arent going out now and no one is coming to us - usually have family stay over. Its a beautiful dress, but it really is a sparkly NYE dress , Id not be going anywhere else anytime soon to wear it so I may as well get the money back and buy something later in the new season - hopefully a smaller size :)

Have a good day everyone xx

  • Got a new book for this year when I went to group on Wednesday. Haven't looked at it yet but I think I will have a wee read. Now that I have been doing SW for 11 weeks I will probably understand it a wee bit more.

Hope everyone is having a good day.  Was surprised to "only" gain 1/2 lb at WI this morning!

To celebrate went and had a fry up at the garden centre.

Back on track later today with soup and lots of speed.
