Afternoon all, wish this weather would make up it's mind!  It was dry this morning, rained at lunchtime, dry again this afternoon but looking like it's going to rain again anytime now!

@bubbs - the free book is for either the 6 or 12 week Countdown according to the SW Blog and also for anyone who joins up now.  Some great bargains again from Company Shop but nothing near me.

Well done @MrsPorridge, not a bad result for this time of year!  According to my scales I've put on at least a couple of pounds and am out of range!  May go back this week but more likely next week although if I'm not in target I'm going to have to book holidays!

DH went to dentist and they've been able to refill his tooth fortunately but have said that really he needs to have a crown so that will happen sometime next year probably - more expense but needs must!

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese omelette
L - stuffed peppers, topped with brie and blue cheese
    D - butter chicken, rice

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
HEB - may have some crackers later
Syns - cheese on peppers 6.5; butter 3

Hope everyone is having a good day.

  • Well done @MrsPorridge. 1/2lb is a win this week I think.

Well ladies, my new favourite snack! Skinny Dream Millionaires' Shortbread. 3 syns or 2 for a HexB!!
In Asda today for £1/5 pack. Really sweet and chocolately. Just had one so I can have half a portion of sugar puffs later if I want them.

Roasted some chicken breasts in the airfryer so have been snacking on that plus grapes. Oh, and polished off a whole head of Chinese leaf which I had left out in the kitchen over the past few days. Chomped on a leaf each time I went in the kitchen. Better than a chocolate each time I was there.

Visited a friend who had lost her dad a couple of weeks ago. She tried to palm off all the sweet stuff that people had brought. Heated up a couple of desserts and made us eat. I literally had a tsp of both and a tiny piece of carrot cake that her daughter made so we just had to!
  • @MrsPorridge , a fry is basically free if you choose wisely - skip the sausages, black pud and what we laughingly call vegetable roll. Choose the bacon( Fat removed ), eggs however you like them, tomatoes, beans mushrooms and 2 slices of wholemeal and its free +hexB - if you take butter then you syn it but I just pile the beans and egg on top - no need for butter. I often have eggs and bacon cos its free and I often do breakfast potatoes in the air fryer to save my Hexb for later. And only 1/2lb ? A win for sure , imagine how much it could have been

@beanielou , its defo for a 6 or 12 week countdown, theres also a lot of new year offers in the papers as well, sure they have to get as many join as they can this time of year cos of all us target members

No harm @nornironrose , they sound horrible lol. Sorry I dont have a sweet tooth as in I can go weeks or months without wanting sweet things. For me its cheese, crisps and crunchy snacks - OMG Id kill for a bag of Bombay mix or a couple of samosas lol

@joedenise, its it a tooth that can be seen? TBH every crown Ive had has failed within a few years so now I just say pull it. Ok So very few top teeth now but Im not kissing strangers :)

Amazing how the weather changes the drive in, done it and found parking in less then 20 mins today. So went in and had a big bowl of Curried Parsnip soup. It having to be GF and Vegan, I know it was syn free. That did me, I pinched one chipolata and one matchstick chocolate. The wheaten bread which is traditional here with soup was defo off the scales , I never looked, just thought well its been not to bad a day. Tea was the last of the Christmas ham, beans, air fried chips and a poached egg and and now sat up on the sofa feeling like a wee piggy. Mind the scales were on my side this morning, back to last WI weight, so fingers crossed

That's good for this time of year @MrsPorridge. 👍 So pleased for you.

I've been really good today, even better than a normal Friday. Had a fry up for breakfast and prawn jacket for lunch. Tonight we had football at a ridiculous time of 6pm so it was past 9pm before we got back. Finished off the last of the ham with chips and salad when we got in.

So the only syns I've had were in the LTL mayo and a tsp of mustard.😇

Need to do a meal plan and shop tomorrow and then will post on the new thread. Thanks for starting us off @beanielou. 🤗

Morning all, up early this morning!  Was up just after 5.15am, just couldn't get back to sleep after needing to get up to go to the loo.

Thanks for the new thread @beanielou.  Not sure if I should be posting this on there but thought maybe we should continue with this one until Sunday and start on the new one on Monday!

@Longwalker - glad you had an easier day parking yesterday.  It's not something I ever did as always worked in Central London so went by train.  Sometimes I'd need to take the car and park at the station but only when DH was doing shift work and his times didn't work out to take and collect me from the station - again why use 2 cars when it's not necessary?  DH's tooth isn't one that can be seen but it is the only back tooth he has on that side so not easy to eat without having it crowned!  He has a plate with back teeth on but can't get on with them so never wears them!  Hopefully his crown will last as long as mine has - mine's a front tooth which was broken when I was 11 so 60 years ago and I'm only on my 3rd crown in all that time - the current one is now 30 years old but the dentist has said he doubts he'll be able to replace it if it falls out but I really don't want a false tooth at the front!

    Today's plan:

     B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
     L - bacon & mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1.5
     D - beef and bean stew (from freezer), mash - P; S; F

     HEA - milk
     HEB - bread
Syns - LF sausages 2; LF spread 1.5

Need to keep the syns low as only have about 30 syns left for 4 days before my new week starts!

     Have a good day everyone.

Meant to say did anyone else see the advert on the TV last night for Slimming World?  Think it's the first time they've ever advertised on TV as not seen an ad before.

    Hi everyone,

The pie did us for dinner again last night - this time with cauli cheese (naughty) to which I added the LO tenderstem broccoli as tbh the cauliflower was tiny once the leaves were gone (large my foot).

Went to bed feeling larger than I'd like, so back on plan today. I went to group to do pay. New 7.30am group starts next Saturday but SW kindly advertised it starting from today so the social team duly obliged. First member was a fox which strolled into the hall, took a look around and walked out again! Had about 35 members over the 2 hours so not too bad, and managed to upsell 12 CDs :) I didn't take anything to group to eat so have just had a sachet of M&S maple porridge which is a HEB choice - very nice too.

Not sure who is here for tea tonight or what we are having yet but we've plenty in. Might do a fish pie mmmmm.

Thanks for the new thread @beanielou and hope you're doing okay. I seem to still have a sinus-y head with intermittent stabbing pains in my ear - am taking pain relief and soldiering on!!

The parsnip soup sounds delicious @Longwalker
